First off, great plays by Lin. But you guys sound funny trying to break it down. The easiest play is to use the left hand. Jeremy didn't have to switch hands (in the typical sense) because he had both hands on the ball when he pumped to get the defense committed. The rim would've still protected him but by using the correct hand his body would've added more protection plus he wouldn't have had to hang as long. He would've had more balance, more control, and it would have been a stronger move. If Jeremy showed more control overall with his game few would say anything. He often ends up on the ground from being off balance in mid air. Again, nice layups.
Nice play but I agree it would've been much easier if he had a Left hand. This is why Mcgrady made things look so easy. He was great at finishing with either hand.
Exactly. And a lot of people don't understand it but Lin didn't have an issue with his left hand he had an issue with his left foot. His left leg was weaker than his right leg so he rarely ever took off on his weaker foot and as a result he rarely finished with his left hand. Being able to take off on your weaker foot is a skill that separates average guards from elite guards.
CP3 does it too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHKoWbnOg78 I donot see a problem here not using their left hand. It's beautiful.
Sort of skipped through this thread but has anyone played ball? The point of these reverse layups clearly is that he's faking to go right, drawing players to the right side of the ring. Not as strong as his right, he's left hand finish isn't bad at all. It's more of his dribbling under pressure and driving with his left. Lin's always been able to finish with his left.
lol @ people worrying about his left hand finishing ability. the dude is one of the best finishers in the league for a PG. The only knock on him right now is his handle. He always loses control when he tries to force himself in the paint
