I love Harden, I think he is All-Star player and I love to watch him play. But every time I look at him I ask myself, why he has such a beard? Wikipedia says- "Harden started growing his beard in college in 2009 after being too lazy to shave" So my questions to you guys, is it true or there is something else? And why he chose that style of beard? so spookie
Well, it is his brand. His beard makes him stand out and highly marketable. If you have something that makes you special, people will talk more about you - and that makes you a bigger star. So whether he likes it or was just lazy, I think in the end it is all about delevoping his brand.
Would suggest you go directly to THE SOURCE, follow it, get to know it, and ask it how it came about.
Why would he shave it now, financially it won't be wise for him, this enormous beard is sort of his trademark in my opinion, it wouldn't be a wise move to shave it now, even though eventually he will shave it off.
I've read it's for the same reason he has something of a mohawk. Because, as a kid, he completely idolized Mr. T. In fact, I even read that he was more sympathetic to Royce White's fear of flying than the rest of his teammates because he related it to how B.A. Baracus was afraid to fly.
