When a team with top defense like Indiana shuts down the paint and the perimeter, you need to take open mid-range shots. This is the flaw with Morey's philosophy.

yeah man. I'm sure if you gave us two of the top 5 players at their position in the league while not trading any of our main guys we would be much improved.

It's a bad loss all right.

3pt shooting didn't fall tonight but coaches can figure out how to win when the 3s don't fall.
Also, having more TOs (14) than Assists (10) won't win many games. The ball movement was very bad indeed. For comparison, Pacers had 29 assists and 17 TOs. Not all TOs are bad, some turned to excellent assists.

Hopefully coaches will go back to the drawing board to devise ways to encourage ball movement and score when the 3s don't fall.

    Use your head.

Even IF Harden shot 13/20 instead of 3/20, we STILL lose by 10 points before we even hit garbage time.

And Casspi and Garcia are heavily reliant on other players creating good looks for them. Yes, Casspi can put it on the floor, but he's far from one of the better off the dribble offensive players on the team.

The ability to have multiple offensive threats on the floor simultaneously isn't just advised, it's pretty much REQUIRED against Elite defensive teams. This is why the Spurs play Parker/Duncan/Manu on the floor for long stretches. It's why the Heat plays Wade, Lebron AND Bosh on the floor at the same time.

You have Harden, Parsons, Dwight, Beverley and TJones on the floor, WHO is going to create the offense when Harden is being neutralized? You think Parsons can do it by himself?

Stop spending so much time trying to justify Beverley on the floor and look at the logistics of how the game actually operates. It doesn't matter whether your 2nd play maker is playing the 1 or the 4. It could be Millsap or Horford or it could be Lin or Lowry.

You MUST have multiple legitimate creators and offensive threats if you're going to score reliably against a top tier defense. It's no more complicated than that.

Garcia and Casspi showing their true colors now. Bench is garbage. Starters were terrible aside from Parsons and Dwight who at least tried.

    Thus far this season:

Keepers: Howard, Harden, Parsons, Beverley, Jones

Maybe keep: Casspi, Brooks, Garcia, Smith

The rest need to go: Brewer, Lin , Asik, DMo,

Exactly. We need someone elite. Bev, Lin and Brooks are not the answer. Also at the 4 we need someone who can defend if his shot is off. Jones blocks a shot here and there, but his man defense is terrible and dosent boxout.

If by competitive, you mean not a blowout, then yes.

    Said this in another thread:

    Missed free throws
    Poor defense
    Terrible assisting
    Too many turnovers
    No post prescence

That's been the case all season and run and gun is a gimmick offense.

Jordan had Pippen. Lebron has Wade. San Antonio is deep. Pacers have Hibbert and George and mabye Granger with West..

Offensively, this team can get shut down for sure. I hope Lin comes back healthy to contribute

Stop smoking that bad stuff.....Lin wasn't even close to being around this game. This game was on the starters....they just couldn't compete.

Trade garbage PG's Lin, Bev for a real PG - may be even Rondo
Get in Millsap for Asik or a hard nosed PF
