Are you sure you posted the right link? I can't find anything about the trade. Found this on another website though, not sure if credible. http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/530352/20131216/nba-trade-news-rumors.htm#.Uq8Wjvkwfy0
It makes sense for the Kings to trade for Rondo, but I don't believe they're sending 6 guys back for him. Probably a combination of a few guys from that list.
Not sure why people are saying it's so bad for Sactown. They have sucked for so freaking long. Getting players that are nationally recognized is a win for them. I don't like Rudy Gay and thought Memphis would be better off trading him before they actually did. But, if you're Sactown and your best player since Chris Webber has been Kevin Martin (we should know how that feels!) then this is still a win for you. Boston, on the other hand, gets to start all over, lose some games and rebuild in a draft you want to rebuild with.
EDIT: Weird, when I post the link trade machine allows the trade, however it won't allow it when I enter it again manually... As reported, this trade couldn't go through: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lkebtto ---------------------------------------------------------------------- In addition to Rondo, Sac would need to take back one of Wallace, Bass, Lee or Bogans With a decimated bench, I'd imagine they would prefer Rondo + Green http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=kk3lz8q Also, even with the 1st round picks, I can't help but feel like this is a terrible trade for Boston. McLemore is pretty nice, Thornton is overpaid for another year, Thompson has two more guaranteed years, Isiah Thomas may not like having to play behind Jordan Crawford and leave in a year. Meanwhile Sacramento could end up with: Rondo/Fredette Green/McCallum Gay/Outlaw Williams/Acy/Landry Cousins/Gray Atrocious bench (even with Landry), but that starting lineup is filthy! Most importantly, they'd improve their weaknesses without shredding the cap
Seems like a lot to give up for Rondo. But it's Sacramento. Beggars can't be choosers. Even if it is actually some sort of combination of picks and players that were mentioned and not the whole schmeel, it would seem to trump anything Morey might be able to offer, if we have any interest in Rondo ("if" being the largest two-letter word in the English speaker's vocabulary). Doesn't mean such a trade would go down. Lots of NBA writers looking for twitter followers and link-clicks these days.
Umm no? Rondo and Gay and Cousins will be a sure PO run contender which will make the picks useless for rebuilding purposes.
Rondo Jimmer?! (not sure who goes here, maybe a celtic player) Gay DWill Boogie Bench: TRASH Outlaw Carl Landry Not bad I guess.
The Sac'ers are preparing to offer. Danny Ainge is preparing to listen? Reports are now floating of a blockbuster in the works with Knixies and Lakes due to a reported phone call and interest in LAL's offices? Love the feed-the-beast mentality. Wake me when Asik's deal is done.
Rondo and Cousin shouting matches. With the addition of Rudy Gay and Derrick Williams, team Sacramento Misfits is complete.
