I would say it is more accurate to say that he can get to the basket pretty easily given his superior speed. However, doing something productive once he gets there is an entirely different story.
AB making some great passes. Just noticed something I forgot. Everytime he penetrates, it frees up a 3pt shooter that gets a wide open look. 4 assists in less than 2 minutes already.
Generally, when people talk about a basketball player getting to the basket, they are referring to his ability to get to the basket and finish, not his ability to get to the basket and miss.
AB has dictated the pace of the game vs the spurs the last 3 minutes and changes the game. I don't want to jinx him, but man that was fun to watch!
That erm...circus shot? floater was pretty. He did a good job pushing the tempo. I don't even mind the turnovers since they were in the flow of the game and trying to push tempo. He should probably know not to pass 3/4 court to Asik on a dead run though. A pair of defensive rebounds, 2-3 steals, 4 assists in a bit over 8 minutes is decent for a one-dimensional one-trick pony.
i posted awhile back that bev's type of defense would be laughable against parker/cp3. Bev is a good improving player he's just not as good as lin or ab. Bev needs to drop to the end of the guard rotation.
Definitely by the folks on this board. He is good not great. I don't know if there are really any great pg defenders.
Beverly should continue starting, his defense makes his game ok even when he isn't on. AB's shot was off and I'm glad coach went to Cisco today instead.
Like I been saying... one trick pony. Shot on, great ride! Shot off, back to the stall. I saw a few more of those ugly circus floaters. At least he made one. I remember when Rafer use to throw those up. *shudder* Defensively, he still sucks. It's not that he doesn't put in effort, it's just that he is so light and slight its pointless. Parker just blew right past/through him. Some of those those TO's he had were really dumb too.
once again knee jerking on AB....if he's on fire, he's on fire. it still doesn't make it 2009. parker burned bev like he burns everybody. JLin is still the best of the three, easily.
Bev was critical in the game with an offensive tip-in and although he mostly isn't a big scorer, he makes big plays at critical times in games. Lin is above-average defensively, can score in the 30s when he's feeling it, can assists when he's feeling it, and has a lot of weapons offensively and is a very good team player and the best finisher around the rim of the point guards and 2nd to Harden on the team. Harden, Lin and Parsons are the main slasher/finishers on the team. Both Bev and Lin add more to the team at the position than Brooks. Brooks is an asset, nothing against him, but the team is right in having him in the role he is now. He's not a starter or a big minutes guy unless he's having a very dynamic scoring game and that'll happen sometimes.
