I have always been the biggest believer in Morey and I stand by most of his decisions except this one to hire an incompetent coach like McHale. No team can win a ring with Mchale as head coach. Hoping he proves me wrong
I think right now, it would do more harm than good if we change coaches... players will have to build trust again, try to learn and buy into the new system. etc.
I'm on board with this Karl is a big upgrade over Mchale. I remember saying earlier that Mchale was fine for the Rockets when they were developing the youngest team in the league. Now the team is stacked with talent and needs a top tier coach.
Remember the days when fans clamored for Mike D'Antoni over McHale? Yeah, fictional hypothetical HCs work a lot better in people's minds than they do in real life. It's odd that people forget that Karl presided over most of Melo's career and helped him become the single biggest ball hog in the past decade. What, you want him coaching Harden? If McHale's gone(and if he's gone it will not be because Morey fired him), the Rockets will go with someone like VG brothers. Not George Karl types.
Did Dwight have a problem with SVG during his time there? Why would we want to bring Dwight's past problems into his fresh start?
If we go with VG brothers, maybe we can have the first dual head coaches in the history of NBA. That'd be fun. Who says you can only have 1 head coach?
How about Jerry Sloan? The guy is a pick and roll wizard and we should be a pick and roll team. I mean, if Jordan was not around in the 90s, Sloan's Jazz around the pick and roll of Stockton and Malone could may have well won a 3-peat
