Discipline and leadership. Nobody's committed to defense and everybody is trying to do too much on offense. Mchale needs to encourage something but he can't, he's afraid of harden. The ball movement is pathetic as well.
Oh my god people! Relax!! We're 6 games into the season... It's not a big deal to struggle a little bit at the start if the season, especially which a bunch of new guys! We've shown flashes of how good we can be, so lets just relax a little bit and let them work out the kinks. I mean, it's not like we've even been that bad overall. Even Dwight, who everyone is killing for the way he played last night, has been good offensively for the most part. So he struggles last game, who cares? He had 29 the game before that. Howard's gonna be fine, harden might when the MVP, and we WILL make a playoff run. So chill!
Exactly. I had to vote other because it was not an option. I view this as the Rockets biggest problem. I think they can fix most of their other problems, but can they fix Dwight's free throw shooting? There is no way the Rockets can compete for a title if Dwight can't make a free throw under pressure.
The disregard for perimeter defense is mind blowing to me. It seems like the fans don't care about it as much as the damn team doesn't care about it lol.
Alot of ****, in order tho. Not Competing all 4 quarters Not Paying Attention on D Turnovers Playing with a 8-9 Man Rotation ISOs and basically everyone sucking at the same time. Im not worried tho we are winning games even tho we are sucking, we are not hitting the stride for a couple weeks when everyone is comfortable and understands there roles.
**** 3 and **** D were watchin **** in 3D I'm sure it will get better as the season moves on and chemistry improves
Couldn't agree more. The result is horrific perimeter defense and ISO's, but the ultimate cause is just a lack of effort. Harden is clearly the worst offender, and Dwight seems to get worse as the games go on, probably because he's ignored on offense. If they try, we're 6-0 and this board is prematurely celebrating the NBA title.
Actually, I think effort does fall on coaching. The Harden-McHale dynamic seems similar to the McGrady-JVG one, but possibly even more troubling.
The biggest issue is Harden's ISO. He needs to play the SG post instead trying to be the PG and hold the ball all the time. I don't see how this team different than Melo's Knicks beside Rockets is younger. When Melo has the ball, everyone camp at the corner. When Harden has the ball, everyone camp at the corner.
the rockets have two new starters. when they play well they blow people off the court. the next phase is consistency.
