Before you guys start sending me hate messages and telling me that Tim Duncan is still playing. I already know that however Hakeem and Dwight are not the same players. Hakeem had impecabble footwork that hasn't been duplicated yet. He needs a player like Tim Duncan to teach him how to play a bit away from the point. Let the hate begin...
Great, I'm sure Tim Duncan would love to help the Houston Rockets get better by giving tips to Dwight Howard. Brilliant thread. 10/10.
If Dwight can't learn from Hakeem or McHale, then what makes you think he can learn from Duncan? Dwight makes rudimentary mistakes in the post. He can't even grasp basic techniques like properly posting up and calling for the ball. If he hasn't learned by now, he likely never will.
because Tim Duncan is the greatest PF of all time. This is most probably going to be his last season. Rockets need to make him part of the coacing staff for next season.
Better question is if Dwight didn't learn something in 10 years NBA career, what makes you think he is capable of learning?
Kevin McHale is one of the greatest PF's of all-time. If he can't learn from McHale, he can't learn from anybody.
he's being taught by 2 of the greatest post players of all time. if he can't significantly improve with hakeem and mchale he will never get it
Should the Rockets also hire LeBron as part of the coaching staff to show Harden how to be a two-way player?
McHale is too limited physically to teach anything. Talk does not cut it. No power forward has improved under McHale's reign. From PPat to Morris to DMO to Howard - none of their low post games have improved
People need to accept the reality. Dwight is who he is at this stage of his career. He's been in the league for 10 freaking years. He is not going to suddenly pick up new skills. All these training with Dream, tips from Duncan nonsense needs to stop. It's the coaching staff's job to understand his strengths and weaknesses and find the best ways to use him.
Pretty sure the Spurs (and only the Spurs) will get Duncan's services. If Duncan even cares to come back to the game in the first place.
