When you do a teaser you get points. The odds today are New Orleans -9 for the whole game. If you're doing a teaser. You get 7 points to do whatever you want with. It can go to the over/under it can go to the team. So if you're teasing New Orleans you buy it back down New Orleans -2. If you're playing Phoenix you get to buy them up to +16.

So if I understand, you bet on Indiana to win 2nd half? (Which they did). Phoenix really surprised everyone with an away win. I don't know what Pelicans were doing, but it seems like their defense is crap. Davis should have a field day offensively... Sacramento is in a 20 point hole and we're in 3rd quarter, holy crap. Not the best day for some home team favourites (includes Portland too).
Not me, I'll try a different approach. I looked up the schedule for today and put down on paper the results I'm expecting. Only then I looked at the odds Pinnacle and Bet365 are giving me. The only two games that stood out to me were UTA-BOS and WAS-PHI. So my wagers are: WAS Wizards - PHI 76ers (PHI -2.5) @2.50 UTA Jazz - BOS Celtics (UTA -1.5) @2.70 I don't know how anyone can call Wizards favourites coming to PHI, but bookies do. Despite losing to GSW, PHI is still hot. GSW is an underrated defensive team. Coupled with great offense, it's no wonder PHI lost against them - much better teams would. Wizards are in serious disarray, they already lost to PHI (at home!) few days ago and I can't fathom how can they win this. UTA - BOS - I'm taking a bit of a risk here. Utah is without point guards and Bradley is very good on defense, but Boston will be without Gerald Wallace and I expect Utah's bigs to dominate. It's about time...
As someone already said in this thread, early NBA season is tough to bet on. Players of best teams are taking a random DNP here and there, underdogs are hungry for approval... From first week observations I'd say team motivation and form was the best guideline to betting; see Phoenix, Philadelphia, Orlando on one side and MIA, CHI and NYK on the other.
That was me. Halftime lines are always great but especially in the first two weeks of the season for the reasons you outlined. Nothing is worse then having a two teamer and seeing a key player or two sitting out. Agreed.
