ClutchFans Game Thread: Mavericks @ Rockets 11/1/2013

Pretty ugly game considering it was essentially a blow out until the last 4 minutes.

Howard really needs to hit more FT's otherwise it's going to be real hard to generate fast breaks and take advantage of our superior offense.

Not sure what it says about our team when I'm wishing for Asik to be our FT shooter... =x

 

S*** game. But at the end of the night no one got hurt and we're still on pace to go 82-0!

 

My take:

1) Harden is definitely a MVP candidate
2) Dwight is our 2nd option, also gota improve on the FT
3) Parson was a no show
4) 1st quarter was some serious beautiful basketball. I like the team chemistry
5) Lin shut down Calderon, his D definitely improved

 

Dallas was slowly creeping back into the game until Harden gave us the cushion again. Our third stringers almost lost that cushion lol.

 

Always makes me happy when we win against the Mavericks :grin:

 

Even thought the Rockets won, it was still a bad move to sub the starters off with the score so close.

 

Casspi got hurt.

 

Good:

Harden playing like a God. Dwight was a beast in the first half.

Bad:

Lin's turnover. Sometimes he plays like a chicken get its head cut off.

Dwight's post move is as raw as a high school player and that doesn't seem to change in the near future.

The bench. Nuff said.

 

Then why don't you go to the games?

 

agree, lin has to hold his end of the bargain by playing consistently the way he has and the criticism will stop. the problem came last year he'd have a great game then next one that sucked. he's been consistent so far. the team over all including harden looked great in the 1st, concerned though dwight wasn't used much in 2nd half.

 

Isn't that kinda what the bench is for?

17 points is a close game?

 

We won. We are 2-0. Despite turnovers. Despite poor FT shooting. Despite a bad showing by Parsons. Despit injuries. And we did it while resting our starters.

We still have a lot of growing to do as a team - we knew that before the season started. And McHale still needs to get better at ingame adjustments. But right now, let`s be happy about where we stand.

 

Team needs to learn that you don't beat a 2-3 zone by passing it around the perimeter and jacking up nothing but 3s. If they do that, they should be alright.
