If Howard has a game like game 1, expect blow out

If Harden has a game unlike game 1, expect a close game

 

I would give them outside jumpers all day. There's a reason zone defense was illegal for many years. With the twin towers rebounding there is little chance of a Mav's victory in this game. This game is a W for the H-town....book it!

 

Keep alternating between Asik, Parsons, Casspi, D-mo, Jones, etc. on Nowitzki. This will wear down Dirk, because each of our guys can spend more energy on him.

 

Mavs can't play D. Should be high scoring but rockets gotta shoot well to win.

 

This preview on nba.com had me despairing: "The Mavericks have won 10 of 11 against the Rockets dating to Nov. 29, 2010, including three of four last season".

They really owned us the past few years...

As far as I remembered, the reason zone-D was illegal was because back then they wanted to promote a higher scoring game because not many players could make an outside shot. As well they wanted to promote the dunks and one on one iso flash plays.

The NBA now is completely different, and because zone-D was allowed again, players are more than ever practicing their long shots (hence stretch 4s). So I don't completely agree with giving them outside jumpers all day, especially giving it to someone like Dirk and Calderon.

The Mavs have always had our number, for whatever reason. Even in Hakeem's days when we won ships in the 90's and the Mavericks were in a state of utter despair, we still lost games to them. Some things in sports cannot be explained, but I have a feeling we will lose tonight. I would never bet against my own team because I have morals, but if I were a neutral observer who was trying to make money, I would make a very generous bet for the Mavs tomorrow.

 

Let's sweep the Ponies and butthurt Mark Cuban.

Rockets will lose because Lin is on the bench while Harden is injured... Lin as a Knick torched the Mavs... but that's not relevant. Just saying if Casspi and Garcia aren't lighting it up the game is done.
