And I'm sure Bradford makes some insane number. Positional salaries rise in the NFL every single year. 13 million today isn't what it was 3 years ago. It is what it is. Edit: Looks like Roethlisberger's contract was done way back in 2008. Eli's in 2009. So yeah. In this current era of QB pay, Schaub's contract isn't what you'd call unfriendly. Not based of historical performance. Eli would be making Flacco money right now his contract was up the in 2012 and NYG won the Superbowl. Timing is everything.
A lot of people are here defending Eli over Schaub, but 17 picks in 6 games is freaking amazingly terrible. He's on pace for over 40 INT's for the season.
We as Texans fan stand behind Matt Schaub just like Giants fan stand behind Eli. No matter how many pick 6 they throw. We believe both of them will prevail and take their respective teams to the Super Bowl.
Apparently you can't type. It's ok, I know it can be challenging for some people. That clip is after MJ saw himself playing baseball. Then was like damn I sucked at it..
All I heard on national sports radio the first 3 years of Eli's career was how much worse than Peyton, how he was a bust, and how the Giants needed to sit him. Giants fans didn't have his back until they won a SB.
Which is dumb to me... winning a Superbowl doesn't make you great. Being great makes you great. Don't get me wrong, they didn't win in spite of Eli, Eli was fine, but rewarding these guys with monster contracts and unabashed loyalty... it just isn't logical.
So if the Texans traded for Eli Manning this past offseason and he was stinking it up like he is, would you still be happy? Would you be happy with an 0-7 start because he has won a superbowl championship in the past?
Who gives **** how many picks he has thrown...??? The guy led the league in interception ever since he got to the league, but we all know the guy can deliver in the playoffs and he has 2 rings.

Now I'm not sure what's your point anymore. I responded to this post you made. So are we comparing Schaub's contract to players like Eli or Big Ben, or Sam Bradford and hypothetical Eli-as-FA-in-2012? If it's the latter, then I wouldn't have bothered responding. But if you want to know who I wish to have, Eli Manning at $2~3mil/yr more than Schaub or Schaub, I'll take Eli Manning.
