I think from a timeframe perspective that scene will have actually taken place before Walt calls skylar. Walt escapes with Holly. Eventually goes to Saul for advice, to set up the disappearance. Whe Saul says if they don't have you he might be referring to the cops. So he's saying the cops will go after his family/Skylar. Which is what leads Walt to plan that last call where he obviously knew the cops were looking, and to set up his extraction.

I don't think Saul is referring to Meth Damon's peeps, as they'Ve already let Walt go. Just my guess.

Anyway, by far the best episode of the season. Really great.

I just had explained this to my wife. Walt has to clear Skylar from all of this by acting as if he is the crazy one.

As for a prediction, I still think Walt dies by either Jesse or Marie. I know saying Marie is kind of out there but I don't know if you guys recall her talking to her doctor about poisoning him. She has more than enough motivation to get this done.

I do hope Jesse dies as well though. He deserves to die if you ask me.

Wow, I totally didn't realize that. So basically, he acted like a huge, controlling jerk so that she would be able to get a free pass (sorta) from the cops right?

That was an amazing episode. Walt obviously did the phone call so that Skylar would get off free and it would appear as if he coerced her. That conversation was BRUTAL to watch.

One of the most amazing hours of TV...ever.

Yep. Walt is freaking smart. As Moe pointed out in his post, he's already accepted his fate with his family. They are scared of him. There isn't a way to turn that around if you ask me.

Yeah, I'm tired of his depression and attacking Walt from behind the DEA's back after betraying him. He never has the fortitude to do it himself. Throwing millions out his window, harping about that annoying little kid, whimpering after Walt told him about Jane, etc.

I wish Jesse had been a stronger character. He should've taken the money to start a new life for himself rather than wallowing in self-pity and self-hatred. Instead, he always had that snarl towards the end when looking accusingly at Walt. Cooking meth was never going to be a clean business. Why then did always give that 'look what you've made me become' expression?

Oh yeah. Watch it again. He's struggling to call her a b****. By the end, he's crying a river because it's hurting him so much to talk to her this way. Great acting by Cranston.

Yeah I noticed the tears, just didn't occur to me and I never really pieced it together. Cranston is brilliant when it comes to these little subtle cues, he is one of the finest actors in the industry IMO.

I didn't even think of that, but that sounds right. Certainly makes Walt looker better. Though I could see Walt, in the state he's in, saying those things to Skylar even without such a motive, which is why it didn't occur to me.

I thought that was pretty obvious? Walt would never talk to his wife like that.

like everyone expected it appears Walt will be going back with that big gun to rescue Jesse from the Nazis

but why would Walt want to rescue Jesse if Walt already ratted Jesse out to the Nazis earlier in the episode?
