My guess is the Rockets wouldn't take him for free. Has anyone who's worked with him at a professional level had anything good to say about him?
If he doesnt work out then we can trade him, I mean anybody can be traded I still cant believe we were able to get rid of Royce White.
Smoking my cigar and reading your favorite NBA team roster and I must say... Pretty nice I too would like to see those boys in action.
Here are the twenty worst players in the league last season (minimum 300 minutes), based on Wins Produced (#1 is the worst, #20 is the least terrible): 20 Darrell Arthur 19 Derek Fisher 18 Donatas Motiejunas 17 Richard Hamilton 16 Glen Davis 15 Jeremy Pargo 14 Hakim Warrick 13 Jason Collins 12 Marquis Teague 11 Ben Gordon 10 Daequan Cook 9 Linas Kleiza 8 Austin Rivers 7 Jannero Pargo 6 Doron Lamb 5 Michael Beasley 4 Jared Jeffries 3 Kevin Seraphin 2 Andrea Bargnani 1 Tyrus Thomas 0% chance that Houston is at all interested in Beasley. These are the sorts of advanced stats that Daryl Morey's team utilizes. Rockets fans will have a much better appreciation of Morey's brilliance and of how good this Rockets team will be if they realize these things. Morey is also very aware that Motiejunas has no business getting minutes for a team that is actually trying to be good which is why he is a very good bet to be traded, either as sweetener with Jeremy Lin or Omer Asik or by himself, most likely for a lottery-protected first round pick. Also note how godawful Bargnani is. The Knicks may not even make the playoffs this season if they give him 1000+ minutes. That's how bad he is.
no, no, no...please no Beasley. let''s go with what we have and assess at the beginning of the new year.
He is just 24 years old. His best year ; Year Team GP GS MPG FG% 3P% FT% RPG APG SPG BPG PPG 2010–11 Minnesota 73 73 32.3 .450 .366 .753 5.6 2.2 .7 .7 19.2 And he is a free agent now. Btw he is 2nd overall pick and not a bust if you consider only his talent. Well, my opinion is ; we have a team which has leaders, veterans and a strong coaching staff.A strong contender. If he comes here, he will find a role and maybe could change his attitude in a better way. Because you cannot be a jerk when Harden-Howard-McHale are around. Our organization could help him to find out a decent role. He is a good player.period.
That list is Wins Produced per 48 minutes, not Wins Produced. The result is basically the same either way, though.
Personally, I think we should go after him. This team needs a 4 who can hit midrange shots and we need an enforcer, too. Our team as currently constructed is very soft. Beasley would inject a fair bit of testosterone to our roster and could also help shore up our weakness at PF.
There were years when Charles Barkley was low on this same list, and yet he was still an MVP candidate in each of those years with the Sixers.
