I think this is because ultimately when the real Eurobasket games start it'll be Valanciunas starting at the 5 and Dmo at the 4. Running their own euro twin towers theme.

Actually this other guy is the best defensive player on current team. That's why. ;)

As long as he shoots 80% from 2 point land and 40% from 3 point land he will be ok! ;)

Anyone know where we can check out the game's (or more preferably, D-Mo's) highlights?

Maybe your hopes were unrealistic for a rookie the first time....If you have realistic expectations, there's no problem getting your hopes up.

I wish DMO to succeed very much, but I am starting to doubt his bright future (at least as a solid starter in NBA). There's this bad looking fixation in his movement that makes me think he doesn't have much room for improvement. His spin moves look like he's just spinning around himself in one spot and not around the opponent. Maybe it's just a bad footwork and can be fixed. He needs to make bigger steps both spinning and running straight with the ball.

Generally, a player's rebound rate increases form the Euro League to the NBA. Motiejunas had his rebounding rate drop by about 30%. It is easily to be disappointed with his lack of rebounding with realistic expectations even with taking into account that he played next to Asik a lot.

His scoring was actually a little better than expected for his first season.

Generally Euro bigs have a hard time adjusting to the NBA so it usually takes them a few seasons to get fully used to the style of play. Again, look at Dirk Nowitzki's rookie year 9.5 rebound percentage, DMo's was 9.8%. If he's still below 10% in a few years, then we complain about his rebounding. IMO he's performing at a level that's about what you should expect from a Euro big this early in his career.

Summer league is like coaches herding cats. The game today at least looked like organized ball.

Looking at what he did in Europe and the increased missed shots in the NBA, he definitely underperformed in rebounds. His rebounds per minute was cut in half on defensive boards. From what I've seen, he and Valanciunas have had their rebounds affected the most negatively among European big men recently.

    8 ppg 4 rpg

    That's optimistic.

I hope T Jones moves ahead of him in the rotation because D-Mo is worthless on defense.
