Year removed from averaging 14/6 on a playoff team. Some fans think he's done. Never had a chance in Orlando. But I don't see the Rockets pursuing. (Although they did go after Mike Miller, it was reported.)
we are in win now mode. you can't be sure you want to see the young get get PT unless they can produce. that's unproven. harrington for the vet min is a proven nba player, a proven stretch 4. IF the young guys improved and show up with more skill than al, cool, let them play instead, and cut al.
I mean honestly all those guys who wanted LMA on the squad should start a campaign and try to get Harrington on the squad. They're basically the same player, except that LMA would be underutilized on this squad as the 3rd option while Harrington as a 4rth option is just right.
The recent T.Jones incident can be a big problem for us. I want our young 4's to do well, but they need time. Al Harrington for the vet minimum on a one year contract is fine with me,if he is fit and healthy to play.
His rebounding for his position/size is too Patrick Patterson-like for my tastes. Below average defensively as well.
Harrington would be a good get. A great shooter. Could be a force off the bench add some scoring and veteran leadership
Also Harrington stated he wants to go back to the roll of super-sub that he played in Denver when he averaged 14.2 ppg and 6.1 RPG in 27.5 mpg.
Uh...you want your 4 to be a stretch 4, right? How many rebs do you think anybody will get he's always near the 3 pt line to provide spacing, and with Parsons, Lin and Harden being good rebounders himself? This is why I don't like us to get a 3rd max star, even if somebody like say LMA is good enough to get 10 rebs and 20 pts a game, he won't have the chance on this team to utilize his abilities because after DH and Harden get their shots, there won't be enough left for a 3rd star like what happened to Bosh, LMA (when Oden played), and Ray Allen/Rondo.
