Yeah but where's the sizzle? The media must sensationalize it! The Nation needs to be incited over minute misdemeanors! Effigies must be burnt!

To anyone that still believes this was a vicious assault you better WAKE UP! The cop would definitely try to drop the hammer if only he could, and the fact it's a worst case scenario harassment charge speaks volumes. Sounds like a cop trying to meet an arrest quota late in the month.

To be fair, it's the police department more than the media. This whole thing originated from a press release from the PD that mentioned the inflammatory word "stomp" three times, including in the headline! And now it's not even in the actual charging document.

But cops are perfect and never make any mistakes, according to a few people here. ;)

You people dont know what its like being a million dollar athlete and the pressures of walking on a well lit street whilst probably being fully buzzed. Having heard the interview of the homeless man on tv i kinda get a sinking suspicion that he fell asleep in front of TJones on purpose as a way to extort money. I think the homeless man and the police officer are conspirators and trying to frame TJones.

And somehow, Mark Cuban and Dallas are involved in the framing. this is my gut feeling.

    Money is a wonderful thing...

A person J-walks... a person of means pays the ticket or fight the ticket till dismissed - done. A person of without means has warrant 90 day later --> is incarcerated next time he or she deals with the police. (this is extreme but trying the make a point) It is not the color of ones skin or anything else --> it's all about the amount of money one has is to how they a treated. It is not right or wrong it just the way it is. sorry about the tangent

Huh? Lack of severe injury isn't dispositive at all. It merely pertains to the extent to which the prosecutor would seek heavier penalties.

But "Offensive physical contact" is all that is required by statute. Intent + unconsented to contact.

Legally, if he had a card board box, is he still homeless? And where is said card board box. And who walked off with it?

Yeah, the overreaction over very little known information on both sides is pretty comical.

Haters: He stomped on a homeless guy. What a douche-bag. Kick him out of the team already!!!!

Apologists: Excuse, excuse, excuse... he didn't do anything wrong; he just tripped over a guy; the cop was lying; ... more excuse, more excuse...

The homeless guy is going to sue Jones for "all he's got"

Certainly feels like the homeless man's eyes lit up when he found out TJ is a millionaire. Stay tuned..
