2013 Orlando Summer League Championship Game: Rockets vs. Thunder

    Playing with just eight players, five of which scored in double figures, the Rockets cruised past the Brooklyn Nets 92-76 in Orlando Pro Summer League action Thursday afternoon.

    Terrence Jones had 16 points, seven assists and five rebounds and Robert Covington added 16 points to pace the Rockets (4-0). UT product Damion James, Carleton Scott and Tyshawn Taylor shared top scoring honors for the Nets (0-4) with 15 points apiece.

    The Rockets will meet the Oklahoma City Thunder (4-0) in the league championship game at 11 a.m. Friday.

    The summer league teams for the Thunder and Houston Rockets will play for the inaugural Orlando Pro Summer League championship on Friday.

    Tip-off is scheduled for 11 a.m. Oklahoma time.

    Houston finished in first place in this week's standings, earning 21 points under a new scoring system that awards teams three points for a win and one point for each quarter won. The Thunder finished in second place with 20 points.

    Both teams went 4-0 this week.

    But taking the summer league crown never was the Thunder's objective.

    “It's not about the championship. It's not about the final day,” said Thunder coach Rex Kalamian. “It's more about, for us, the consistency of how we play … We know that there are going to be a lot bigger games ahead. It's nice to win, don't get me wrong. We really want to win every time we step on the floor. But the outcome of winning and losing to us is way down the list.”

    Feel free to tell us an alternative for folks that want to watch something resembling NBA basketball.

    No one is forcing you to watch or care...but you dont need to piss on others who do.

    Im assuming this is going to be blacked out on NBA tv, has anyone looked to see when the replay is? I'd check, but Im at work.
