Why are the Rockets not filling out the bench quickly???

    One of two reasons.
    1, Morey think the current roaster is set
    2. Morey has not seen any good trade.

    lol. I'd be stoked if Ellis realized his true worth to a team as a volume scorer who plays no defense, has poor shot selection, and gives the other team a matchup advantage every second he is on the court. That being said, Id love to see him accept the vet minimum to play as a lightning quick, high-scoring 6th man ala Jamal Crawford, just with much more speed and much worse size.

    One can dream. In 3-4 years, Ellis might accept a vet minimum to play for a couple rings in Houston, but I don't think his ego would allow such a decision at this time in his overpaid, underperforming career as a quick-trigger shooting guard trapped in an ultra-small point guard's body

    Smith and Olbrecht can't even dominate the summer league. We can cut them and sign Kenyon Martin, he's an experienced vet and a tough rebounder/defender.

    Did you see Garcia play lock down defense on Durant in the playoffs ? Did you see him shoot 40%+ from 3 ?

    Garcia is great on both sides of the floor and when Casspi has been healthy, he's been one of the best 3 point shooters in the NBA.

    I would not mind dumping Tim O for Kenyon Martin, having an experienced PF could be huge in the playoffs for 10-15 mpg or so.

    Corey Brewer or Gary Neal is the type of defender we need with the mini-MLE

    I disagree with the roster is set theory! That is not Morey's style, I think he wants to make
    sure he's crossed the T's and dotted the I's on Howards contract before he makes any further
    moves, after all this is the "Big Fish" and he wants to give Dwight's coup all the media it deserves!
    Once he gets Howard locked in he will rape some unknowing GM of some undervalued player and
    continue his rein of terror on the NBA.

    Wow. No he hasn't been. He's been good, but his career high is 37%. That wouldn't have had him in the top 50 in the last 4 years.

    I think depending what position he plays.. for a 4 he shoots well....
    If you consider him a 3 then he is above average to serviceable

    I'm not trying to knock him, but he's not one of the best in the league at shooting the 3. He's just not.

    That doesn't mean he can't be valuable or that he isn't a good 3 point shooter, but if he can't crack the top 50 he's not one of the best.

    The start of the nba new year is today. The salary cap & luxury cap figures are official now. I'm guessing once the Howard signing is complete they'll sign one or two more guys. Hardens backup (Brewer or Brewer LoL) and depending on trades a back up center

    We need another legit back up at SG/SF but I'm confident Morey will find a diamond in the rough that other teams have discarded before summer ends.
