They're both. Acronyms are a form of abbreviation- but you're right.

What if she is a prostitute? I think that it shows that she is a real "go getter" that isn't afraid to get to the point. Having a great resume and quick email contact will put you miles ahead of other frosty prosties.

#1 reason people don't get a job, TERRIBLE INTERVIEW SKILLS.

Be prepared when you go into a job interview. Go online, get tips and PRACTICE.

What exactly did you do wrong? Stutter? Too timid? Can't answer technical questions?

Yes, but the large majority of people don't think that's their problem. I can't tell you how many people I've dealt with over the past 14 years have told me, in one form or another, "All I need is a good resume to get my foot in the door. Once I'm in, I know I'll impress them in the interview." I mean, it's an extremely high percentage who believe that. And like with anything, not everyone can be great at it. It's like when you review a stack of 50 resumes and every single one says, "Excellent oral and written communication skills," you know some of them are wrong.

In general, seek out the positions that best fit your skills, experience, and personality (and no, not everyone does this). Don't underestimate the last one- some have experience and are skilled in teaching, for example, but they don't really enjoy the fast-paced, stressful environment, so that's probably not the best career-long move.

Figured this thread is as good as any to post this -- I'm trying to hire an IT Assistant (entry-level) . . . if any clutchfans are interested, or know someone who'd be interested.

All of the above... Not at the same one interview, I'd stutter in one and be too timid and the other. Lack of preparation in one, nothing to say in the other. Generic in one, lost for words in the other.

Needless to say, I'm improving and learning from my mistakes... except now, I'm barely getting any phone calls as much as I did before..

    He's actually wrong.

BTW, CIA, IRS, etc., are initialisms.

Acronyms are initialisms that can be pronounced as words.

    SCUBA and FEMA are acronyms.

LOL could be an acronym, if it were pronounced ”lawl” or ”lowl.”

But if you're saying ”el-oh-el,” it's not an acronym, it's initialism.

    Suck it, Swoly.

I don't really know what he said because he's still the sole member on my ignore list and I try to ignore posts that quote him... but I'll support any post that ends in 'suck it, Swoly'.
