If healthy, which has yet to happen.

But they also cannot defend. At all. Maybe they score a lot this year, but we've seen how far high scoring, bad defensive teams can go.

RJ and Lamb should be enough to replace K-Mart. I don't think they will miss him much.

    Agree on PJ3.

It's ridiculous how stacked the West is. I'd say at least 10m and as many as 13, of the best 16 teams are in the West.

    Doubters!

Houston 59 wins - only 59 because they need time to hell with D12!

    The rest of the West!!!

Lakers fans need to embrace the rebuild. You are over the salary cap with just those 4 players you mentioned, FOUR PLAYERS, Kobe will be out half the season with no clue on how close to Kobe he will be when he returns. Gasol is returning from surgery, again. MWP is healing from surgery and is over the hill. Who will Nash pass to if he can stay healthy?

The lakers will be paying luxury tax penalties for this sorry collection of pieces that don't fit together and cant play together to save their franchise, or their season. Let go of the delusion. Rebuild. Its way past time.

I think this was their final hurrah. They'll win games during the season based on crafty vet savvy and team play but you'll see a very noticeable drop off when pitted against the younger more experienced top west teams.

It's always risky to write them off but I have a hard time believing that Duncan will make it through the whole season again....and Ginobli is done being an all-star caliber player.

Jazz are going to be terrible. You realize they just traded away all there guys right? The spurs will be better then the warriors, probably the 2 or 3 seed.

It seems to be unanimous who the top 6 will be. I guess the real fun is predicting 7 & 8.

    1) OKC
    2) Houston
    3) LA Clippers
    4) Memphis
    5) Golden State
    6) San Antonio

7,8,9,10 is a complete toss-up between Portland, Minnesota, Denver, Dallas, Utah, Phoenix, and LA Lakers. It's going to be an awesome season.

On paper, not knowing future injuries, there definitely aren't 13 better West teams than some of Miami/Bulls/Nets/Indiana/Knicks.

After that though, it's a mess. I've no idea what's the 6th best East team now. Pistons?

    Rosters as currently constructed:
    1. Thunder
    2. Spurs
    3. Clippers
    4. Rockets
    5. Grizzlies
    6. Warriors
    7. Nuggets
    8. Wolves (if healthy)/Blazers

I don't really believe in the Jazz or Pelicans this season like some are. Dallas could also easily sneak into 8 with their experience. In this scenario, really hoping the Rockets can move up to 2 or 3 to avoid OKC until the WCF. That'd be an amazing rematch with both teams well improved from the last series (WB healthy and addition of Dwight + others).

Posted this in another thread, so I'll just recycle it here:

Here's how I think the playoff seedings are going to shake out, barring injuries:

    1. SAS: Have made no improvements, but they're a machine. Highly susceptible to injuries and declining performance due to age, wear and tear.

    2. HOU: Going to come out of the gate strong. Hopefully we can work out the Asik issue and he can get his minutes splitting time at C and PF.

    3. GSW: They beasted in the playoffs last year and have a major upgrade in Iggy.

    4. OKC: Could possibly capture 1-4 seed, but I'm putting them here due to Westbrook's injury and the loss of Martin.

    5. LAC: Young and talented, boosted by the CP3 resigning & Doc Rivers. Solid backup PG signing. Could be a dark horse contender in the West.

    6. MEM: Had a magical playoff run last year. Can they catch fire again?

    7. DAL: Haven't done anything so far in the offseason, but should have Dirk back for a full season which should give them enough wins for a lower playoff seed.

    8. MIN: The Martin signing should get this young, talented team over the hump and put them into the playoffs.

Note: I'm surprised by the high ranking of OKC by many of you. They're clearly not going to be the team they were before.
