How about Steve Novak? Same type of player as Ryan Anderson but would come at a fraction of the cost.

By fraction you mean half (he makes 4m) and by being the same type of player, you mean that neither are good defender, except that Anderson's merely below average while Novak is like a zero on defense.

we're assuming Asik really wants out here, which if we learned anything from the last few days (which should remind us for the 1000th time) that twitter rumors should be taken with a giant grain of salt.

anyway, I would have no problem running with t-Jones / Dmo to be honest. I guess

I don't know what you're looking at but Ryan Anderson has better all around stats for every category besides FG% (which is probably because he shoots 5 more 3s per game). Anderson did play more 5 mins a game though. I've lost interest in acquiring him though.

Will Ryan Anderson be the next Donyell Marshall aka stretch 4 who we've always thought was eventually going to be a rocket?

how much his stats are better overall? 1%?

    ppat was slightly better in
    1. blocks
    2 had less TO

    ryan was slightly better in
    1 assists
    2 steals
    3 rbs

ppat was significantly better in FG% and slightly better in 3s%

while ryan scored significantly more points more per game(6 ppg) while playing 5 more minutes

by this stats alone ryan would hardly be an upgrade from PPat let alone significant upgrade...worth trading asik for

btw how does their salaries match?

Not even close, Donyell never a good FT shooter and not as deadly on 3s as R.Anderson. Anderson will do wonders in Houston, I'm sure if we get him the national media will be salivating. Great FT shooter (around 85%), above, 2nd in NBA in this past season with 3s and a capable rebounder. I rather have Anderson shoot from perimeter than JSmoove and most likely more spacing for Dwight. It isn't like Dwight will not clean up the mess.

Yeah actually wouldn't be a bad idea to try and get PPat back... might be difficult anyhow. The only real options out there are LMA (difficult to trade for), Josh Smith (maybe but he can't shoot), Anderson (best fight I would say).... what about Jeff Green??

If we can't work a good deal, I hope we don't force it. We have a good lineup now, and we will find other players who want to play w Harden/Howard.

If we trade Omer Asik for Ryan Anderson I'm gonna slam my junk in a drawer.

Conflicting reports. Sources say Rockets working on a sign & trade for Josh Smith, sources say there are talks of Asik for Aderson, but other sources say neither Atlanta nor New Orleans are interested in Asik.

Anderson and Howard were the 10th best player pair in +\- in 2011-2012. 3rd best from teams not in finals.

What about a three way deal

    Rockets trade- Asik
Get- Ilysova, Bobcat's 2nd rd pick

Bobcats trade- Zeller, Sessions, Taylor, 2nd rd pick
    Get- Asik

    Bucks trade- Ilysova
Get- Zeller, Sessions, Taylor, Bobcats 2nd rd pick

Bobcats- They get to pair Asik with Jefferson giving them a very solid frontcourt
Bucks- They get a nice prospect in Zeller to pair with Sanders, a filler pg in Sessions, and depth in Taylor.
Rockets- Ersan is one of the best stretch fours out there to pair with Dwight.

National media salivating over Ryan Anderson? Lol ... I've heard it all.
Anderson is a nice player and he fits us well but I think we can get more for Asik. A starting calibre center is much more valuable than a 3 pt specialist/shooter albeit he's a good at what he does.

For the same people that b****ed and complained about Patterson.. Anderson is pretty much what Patterson was on a good night on a more consistent basis... 16/6 which is great and all but Dwight can't do it all and we still need a legit 4. I'd rather keep Asik or trade him for a real 4 and find the cheaper specialist/shooter elsewhere.

think Anderson is the best fit for this team than Smith thinking about it.
