Absolutely. If he is gone, 1) I am going to miss him 2) Would like the rockets to get an equally or more impactful player. Forget the stats. Asik has already proven that he is a tough player that will bring in in the playoffs.
Lakers prob leaked 50/50 story outta spite towards D12 and DM.... DM prob leaked Asik unhappy so when he gets traded (per plan) it doesn't seem like DM just swapping 'assets'... coud b wrong... just a guess....
Don't feel like reading through thread but has it been confirmed this is what Asik wants? To be traded? Or is this just speculation?
I seriously doubt that Asik is unhappy. I mean how can he be unhappy with DH taking over his place. That is some sort of Royce White brain fart. Omer never seemed to be like that. I imagine he told the top brass that he likes to continue to start and if that's not guaranteed, he would like to move on. That's cool, except he gonna miss out the championship parade next year.
I wouldn't mind one seven footer on the floor every minute of a game. In the playoffs, the way the game changes to the half court set and the way hard fouls are allowed..the way a relative stiff like Hibbert can dominate.... I just can't wait for the playoffs!
If possible, I would absolutely love a three-man rotation at the C/PF of Dwight, Asik, and a capable PF. Defense. Defense. And more defense. And it protects our bigs from heavy minutes and injuries.
Personally I would like some strong bench pieces in return of Asik instead of going after this mediocre bunch of power forwards. We need a back up shooting guard and small forward. Just let one of our young power forwards try and develop and worse comes to worse, just trade up for one later in the season.
Hopefully the truth will emerge in the days to come, and we can move on and do whats best from there.
Pelicans ain't gettin no mo' than Asik. I'd be plenty happy with keeping him here. Guy was a revelation.
Liked the guy in Chicago. Loved him when he came here. Quality starting center in this league and will have no problem picking up where he left of. I wish him the best of luck and continued success. I will continue to follow his game.
