Sucks to probably lose such a likeable guy for a not-so-likeable guy, but Dwight's on another level. Whoever winds up with Asik is going to be happy.
Love Omer. Wish him the best. Completely understand his reaction. But he has tremendously benefited from his year in Houston, so I would hope that he doesn't have much ill-will towards the team.
I don't think Asik has any possibility of "forcing" a trade. He can ASK for one. But Daryl "The Rapist" Morey is probably already 17 moves ahead of him.
Omer has had a solid season with us. Unfortunately, there won't be many minutes for him,if the Howard signing materializes. Even though I am not keen on Josh Smith,he probably would be the best player we can get in return for a package which includes Omer. I do feel that the headlines are an exaggeration. He isn't the type of guy who will force a trade.
Boozer would fit in well next to Howard but they'd have to include Butler. I don't think the Rockets would even do that. I'd love Noah. Or maybe Portland gets Noah, we get Aldridge, and Chicago gets Asik, assets, picks, and parsons. Pipedream but Morey is a miracle worker.
Like I said a few days ago, Asik deserves to start. I felt if Rox signed Howard, Asik was gone. Hate to see him go but Asik proved he can be a starter in this league and he deserves that opportunity. Howard when healthy makes this team a legit title contender, Asik makes this team just a playoff contender. So.... best of success to wherever Asik is traded.
It's fine. I have no problem because the Rockets are going to get significant player(s) back for him. So it's not like replacing Asik with Howard in a vacuum. Like one leaves in FA and another one signed. Even if it's not Josh Smith/LMA, a lesser center(to be backup) and nice young wing player would satisfy me. But of course I would be ecstatic if we can flip him for Aldridge, and still giddy in a S&T for Smith.
I'm dubious of this information. I think its just conjecture at this point. I think if they trade Asik, its not necessarily because of his supposed opposition to coming off the bench. Just a convenient and sensational headline/tweet.
