There is zero way this has been confirmed. Good job to jump on a sure fire trade to build your "rep" espn
My guess is a Josh Smith deal. But if HOU does start the season with Omer, would he really be a cancer? Also, I am suspecting someone with an agenda, like a team who wants Asik, is the source of this info. Why does this get out now? Omer knew that HOU would pursue Howard for a long time now and has to have known they have a real chance. If he wanted to leave if/when Howard comes, he could have let it known much earlier in the offseason.
Not surprising in the least. The Rockets should make good and trade Asik to somewhere he'll start. Dude played well last year and deserves it, much like Lowry did.
Thats sad. I liked him. Although it doesn't seem like something he would do. If true, hopefully Rockets get someone as productive as he was.
"Sources" and "could". 2 words that have nothing to do with any sort of substance or truth. This is how reporters have jobs. Wish I could do that at my job and not get canned!
I'll miss the guy. He was a beast collecting those rebounds. Like others, I am not sure how much I like the fit of Josh Smith and D12. What if we traded Asik for a solid 3pt shooter and picked up Millsap? Does anyone know if this is possible?
That means whatever Morey said in the interview can't be trusted. That also means Lin is perhaps being shopped around too.
Understandable. I'll miss Asik. Best scenario = LMA Probable = Josh Smith Chance = S&T with Lakers Likely Lin will stay if this is true. Line-up Lin Harden Parsons J.Smith Howard
we all knew asik and lin were going to get traded anyway if we got dwight. get your goodbyes ready for lin also
I wish we got Howard next year and we could have seen how asik would continue to develop. But we have D12 now hehehe
I hope there are no hard feelings between the team and Omer -- he'll always be a favorite of mine. I will definitely post in the Omer appreciation thread -- and it will be sincere appreciation. But Omer is going to be a starter in the NBA for the next decade, and I am glad my Rockets and Daryl Morey are the ones that gave him the chance he needed to break out of the Bulls bench (if that offer sheet would have been any smaller the Bulls would have matched and he would have been sitting behind Noah). That said, it is cool to see how many offers are rolling in for Omer. Morey can get creative with all this activity -- though I do think he will eventually be traded for Smith...a deal I am getting more and more excited about as I look at the defensive impact Smith can have on the court -- it is comparable if not superior to Omer's top 10 impact.
