great move by GS to be able to unload those two to get Iggy but it really forces their hand to pull off a sign and trade now -- I dont believe that they can convince the Lakers to take Bogut at that price tag (since the lakers are in deep with the tax) and there is no picks to convey to the lakers. They would have to give up at least Barnes - which they will easily now with Iggy on board - but still at the end of the day the Lakers would have to think over if Barnes is worth having at that price tag - around 40 or so million (since bogut and his contracts are added then the crazy tax) for that one season and then having Barnes for a few more years after. This is all going to kill me and my blood pressure
If anything, I see this going the other way. I think Dwight WANTS to play for Houston. BUT, the Lakers would rather get back the package they could get from GS & partners as opposed to Lin/Asik. Wish Morey could close on Josh Smith, that would change things, but I'm thinking Josh Smith doesn't want to be left in a situation where it's just him and Harden with no PG, bench or center (if they lose out on Dwight).
What would it solve if Howard chooses not to come here? He knows we can have smith if we wanted him. Signing smith would me we have to do a S&T with the lakers. Which would be stupid to actually give the lakers the power.

I'm ROFL at cf.net drama queens, went from giddy at thought of getting dwight to hating dwight and firing Morey within ten minutes.
Jarrett Jack is a URFA?? correct?? The Warriors have decided to go with Iggy. If the Lakers are really entertaining the possibility of taking back Bogut and say(Barnes) for S/T is that really what the Lakers want???

Warriors are doing their due diligence, in case Howard liked their pitch enough. 1. Warriors can't sign Howard straight up! They need the Lakers to agree on a trade. And it would have to be a handsome trade for the Lakers. 2. They still need Howard to tell them he wants to go there. 3. and if the Lakers agree on a trade, that means they concede defeat. Look, the Rockets traded T-Rob as well, they were doing their due diligence. There was no deal in place. Teams have to gamble to win big. That is all I see the Warriors doing. How disastrous would it be if Howard chose Golden State, and then the Warriors could not get the Lakers to agree to a trade!
Morey went the smart route for flexibility. Warriors had no flexibility and are about to have the best team in the conference.
