I'm on Earthlink (aka RoadRunner) here in Houston. The internet seems to be lagging hard. I am thinking this is from the War and NCAA traffic, mostly the war. All of these live video feeds on the net are killing bandwidth. I've tried several speed test and I am only in the 150kbps range, versus a normal speed of 2000 or higher. I can't even get to www.rr.com or http://houston.rr.com to see if they are having issues. Anyone else?
Well, I have Comcast high-speed interent and don't seem to have any real problems (although my mouse broke and my computer goes soooo slow for no reason at times), but there must be a problem with your connection via RR. I tried going to the link and it wouldn't load. Good luck with it.
www.dslreports.com Go to Our Tools. Then Speed Tests. THen choose either server. Follow instructions and you can compare your sonnection to others in your area.
Im on Earthlink Cable also, and didnt get to either of those websites above. Havent had any issues today. I couldnt browse yesterday but after rebooting my modem and router, everything went back to normal.
Well, I should remind people on the Texas A&M campus and using a T1. I went to the first place that popped up on google, http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/ I can access www.rr.com , but not http://houston.rr.com.
Speed test results download: 1052 kbps upload: 359 kbps I am on a laptop hooked on a wireless network with supposdley on a poor signal.
I was trying 3 different speed test (dslreports, bandwidthplace and cnet). DSLReports is still under 1mb, but the other two are over 1mb. I think it's my local area. I get a crazy error when I go to www.rr.com I'll go to bed and if it acts up again tomorrow, then I will call those bosos at timewarner...
