Who are they going to get?

For everyone that keeps thinking this lets start naming some names of whose hitting UFA that's going to come and help form a superstar duo.

Whether Dwight re-signs or not, the Lakers will always get stars.

Cyberx was talking about Kyrie Irving. I know he's restricted but in todays NBA these guys keep forcing there way out..

Well eventually every team is due to get at least a all-star player about every decade or so...unless they are the Bobcats.

Phil sounded like he feared for his own mortality when talking about coaching again.

I haven't seen a max restricted player force his way out, has there been one?

I believe CyberX but also in today's NBA teams realize if a guy isn't signing an extension then you trade him for what you can get.

Also Kyrie is a LONG ways off from hitting UFA and most young guys will resign after their rookie contract because money is most important to them at this stage in their careers.

I don't care what Phil says. If the gets a chance to coach the Lakers with Kobe+DH+Gasol he will do it, even if it is for a couple of years and a chance to get ring #12.

It's all on JIM BUSS right now...on if he will back down and fire MDA like they did with Mike Brown.

    This x1000.

Phil can go on every radio station in America and say he's not coaching again, not looking to coach again but if the Lakers job opened, I believe he would take it.

He would take it only if Jim Bus cedes the basketball operations power to Phil and Jeanie.

They get traded beforehand (Harden) or try and fail (Eric Gordon).

I don't believe he would because:
    1) The deck/team is not stacked
    2) Jim would be his boss

Phil had an agreement with Hanson to control the Sonics. He's still looking for an opportunity like that. Hopefully he snags on somewhere before D'antoni's seat gets any hotter.

Phil said he thought this team could get to the WCF, although was worried about how he was going to beat the Heat.

I guess fair point on two. Would that stop him? I don't know.

Neither of those were a player forcing his way out.

Gordon was traded for CP3 and Harden was Bennett the cheapskate.

He thought they could get to the WCF a couple weeks into the season. His thought might have changed by now, especially with Kobe's injury.

Eric Gordon absolutely tried to force his way out of New Orleans. Harden forced his way into a max contract, but I agree that it's different.
