The thing is, Parsons and Fegan make a ton more money if the Rockets make Parsons a RFA in 2014 instead of a NRFA in 2015. The problem with being an RFA is that other teams may not give you their best offer (many teams will not even bid) since they know the team owning the players rights will likely match the offer. Remember the Carl Landry situation? Carl and his agent felt like he got low balled and left money on the table because DM would not negotiate with him. They waited for another team to do all the work and just matched the offer. Fegan might ask DM to agree to make CP25 an RFA in 2014 and negotiate an honest contract so Chandler can get all the money he is worth a year earlier with out a low ball contract. It might even put D12s mind at ease knowing that both Harden and CP25 will be his teammates for thought the remainder of his career. Agents will use absolutely any and every advantage possible to get their client the absolute best possible contract. To think Fegan would not take advantage of any situation to get CP25 the best contract is crazy.
Its all good, he's doing a tour in LA to pick up a rich chick to carry him through the next few years until he can get a real contract.
Parsons only brings endorsement revenue % to Fegan now. His new contract will bring 45 or more million @4% to Fegan. That's not priority? CP25 is major Fegan priority and will remain so.
Fegan was Carl's agent in 2008, and he get screwed in that deal, which is exactly the reason why he hates Morey so much.
Only next year 2014 if they make him a restricted free agent. If they guarantee him until 2015, then Parsons can walk as an unrestricted free agent, just like Dwight is gonna walk from LA to Houston this Summer. Rockets will see how he plays next year before making a decision about which way to go. I think Dwight coming will negatively impact Parson's numbers but we'll wait and see.
He was not Landry's agent. Landry's agent was some guy named Buddy Baker with Landry as his only NBA client.
What has Parsons to do with Dwight coming to Houston or not? We have yet to see whether he is Landry Fields version 2.0. His 3pt shot has become flatter just as Fields'. It's not sure Parsons will shoot as well next season with that trend.
Yes, bring him to Houston. We love Dwight more than Beard, Lin and some guy about to get a big fat paycheck.
Dwight Howard not considering Clippers, per report http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2013/5/20/4348498/dwight-howard-free-agency-rumors-clippers
