How did LeBron do it in Cleveland when he was double and triple teamed every single game? Remember the Pistons series? Yes, the 2007 Pistons were better defensively than the 2013 Grizz. They both had Prince.

People tend to forget... East is weaker than the West.

The Pistons were strong back then and won a title. That's the team LeBron beat all by himself. People tend to forget how insane LeBron was in Cleveland at 22 years of age. Short memories.

Knee-jerk threads are the best LOL.

It's like being by far the 2nd best player in the L is a bad thing.

Lebron put up good numbers in Cleveland but he didn't finish games like he does now. Plus, back then he had the luxury of playin in a very weak conference. Had Cleveland Lebron played Memphis of now, he'd of gotten swept.

Bottom line, KD played fantastic but fail short. His numbers were still crazy even though he did it all by himself

5-21 shooting in tonight's game. Maybe it's just me but I expected more from the league's 2nd best player and a player who people crowned as the best last season after game 1 of the NBA finals.

this is a big misconception. the "lebron is not clutch" propaganda really happened in 2011. lebron was a consisteint top 3 4th quarter scorer in cleveland.

he went 7 games against the eventual champion boston celtics (who had a WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better defense than the grizzlies) with a starting lineup of deltone west, wally szczerbiak, ben wallace, and zydrunas ilgauskas

Memphis wouldn't sweep Lebron's Cavs. Although the East was weak, he faced better defenses/teams than Memphis (Pistons, Boston, Dwight's Magic) and put up monster #s and all were very hard fought series.

It's a good learning experience for Durant. He hasn't played without WB and they REALLY struggled. If WB was out the first 2 games, we (the Rockets) would have beaten OKC.

Whoever mentions LeBron's Miami teammates in this thread is not comprehending the argument. LeBron has had scrub teams in the past and has gotten further than a 2nd round obliteration. Therefore, he is better than Durant.

He's much better than Durant, IMO. He can get to the rim by bulldozing his way there whenever he wants. Not as pretty as the double crossover + hesitation combos that Durant can execute, but it's more reliable. Passing is also much better. LeBron doesn't turn it over as much, either. I'm pretty disappointed that Durant couldn't win more than one game against the Grizzlies. Then again, LeBron was used to being the only player worth a damn in Cleveland. Durant had to adjust in the playoffs. Still, there's no denying who number 1 is.

Honestly in a weird way, this makes me respect Russell Westbrook a little bit more or at least makes me appreciate what he does for the Thunder. He has been under high scrutiny at times, people question whether he and KD can coexist, etc but he shows up to play regardless and doesn't let any of that affect him. I think this is a testament to how mentally weak Durant is. I've never seen Durant complain that much about calls until this series.

Durant would look pretty damn good on that heat team. People forget how vulnerable Lebron looked only a couple of years ago.
