That and it's a lot easier to post after a great game...didn't see 'what' after the crap game he had 2 days ago...it's almost like Conley did his best to lose that game for Memphis. Again, Conley is good, not great. The fact that he's 25 is a good indicator that he has room to improve still. But by that time Memphis will probably lose him and what will exclaim he's just an average point.
actually conley has been great in multiple games in the playoffs, against the clippers and now the thunder, i just decided to make this game a reminder of what i said way back. and from what ive seen, the media is also doing the same thing. mike conley played so well greg oden is trending.
the grizzlies have conley locked up longer than they have gasol or randolph locked up. nah we ain't losing him any time soon.
he is super fast. def underrated still. who knew that he was going to be the better player between he and Greg Oden?
Can't really say he is the "better" player when Greg Oden physically never had a chance to consistently compete. Oden could have been a monster.
i remember when people were saying conley is a bust.. he really was disappointing coming out of college. he put in work though also, hes no MJ, but saying oden could have been a monster is the same as saying sam bowie would have done well if only he hadnt gotten hurt
Conley is another guy that went pro too soon. You have to give him credit for putting the work in to become a good player.
Yeah I agree. That's top 10 material. Looking back at my list I didn't include Young guys like Lillard and Irving. I'd take those guys above Conley moving forward so realistically Conley at best is probably the 10 best pg in the nba. Having said that Conley is probably a better fit for the Griz than a pg like Irving or Lillard.
Not sure about Lawson and Holiday. I like both guys a lot. But Lawson really disappointed in the playoffs (other than his 36 point outing)
I've considered Conley an elite PG since last season and people always scoff at it, he's the most underrated player in the NBA.
Mike Conley is good but not top tier like Chris Paul. Chris Paul is having trouble having his team mesh together.
what deserves endless mockery for propping up Rudy Gay, but I've got no argument in this thread. Conley is an elite point guard. He's also a really good defender. I haven't done a list, but I see him in the tier just below the Paul/Rondo/Rose tier. That being said, his contract was still bad at the time.
Wasn't he playing with a gimp foot for the remainder of the season? Including their playoff series... Tells a lot when you consider he played above average even injured.
Did you know his cap figure this year is lower than Jeremy Lins? Most people in the Garm argue Lin is making average PG money or 8mil. Conley got a 9-45 million contract for being about an average starting point guard so I don't know if you can say he is over paid by the market standards.
