Lin Harden Parsons Pau Asik Pau is a true 7 footer and can score. Both him and Asik can rebound a ton. - I don't see Howard or CP3 coming to Houston - of the 3 at PF, TJones > DMo > TRob. DMo is a really poor man's Pau, so should get the real one. Think TRob is gone before next season. - really down on Greg Smith. foul prone. McHale uses him cuz of his size at center.
But Pau is too slow for the fast-paced system of McHale. We need somebody fast enough to keep up with the system unless Morey/Les have plans of replacing McHale...
I think Lin won't be traded just because Les likes him. Howard and CP3 won't budge from LA most probably due to salary. (Kobe won't be able play next year so the team will be Howard's...) Morey will also save some cap money for the next off-season. It's too star-studded for him to overlook it. He'll look for 1-year rentals and lock-up only one max or near-max player. I hope to acquire some lock-down defender in the wing ala Iguodala... Lin Harden Chandler Millsap/JS Asik Bev Baby Asik . . . .
we will get one of LAL's big men if we got Howard: (Asik+Lin+DMo for S&T DH12) Sign Millsap to $11~$12Mil./per TRob will be traded for picks to keep Garcia Howard, Smith, Tim Millsap, Jones, White Parsons, Delfino Harden, Garcia, Anderson Beverly, Brooks, #34 pick if we got Gasol: (Asik+Lin+DMo for Gasol) Sign JSmoove to $12~$13Mil./per TRob will be traded for picks to keep Garcia Gasol, Smith, Tim JSmoove, Jones, White Parsons, Delfino Harden, Garcia, Anderson Beverly, Brooks, #34 pick
Why have you got (Asik+Lin+DMo for S&T DH12)? D12 is an unrestricted free agent and we got cap space so its just a straight sign. S&T doesn't benefit Howard, he doesn't get the extra year anymore. (Asik+Lin+DMo for Gasol) This wouldn't work either because Lakers need to off-load Gasol because they are waaaay over the cap limit. They want trade exemptions and minimum contracts.
Unlike FA, where it is pretty easy to list the top 3 or 4 landing spots for a player, many crazy things can happen via trade. For instance, one scenario that I like is: 3-way trade - HOU trades Lin, Asik, Robinson and 2013 Round 2 pick (via PHX) to PHI; HOU trades Delfino, cash and 2014 Round 1 pick to MIN - PHI trades Hawes and Holiday to HOU; PHI trades Turner and Richardson to MIN - MIN trades Love to HOU - HOU receives Holiday, Hawes and Love - MIN receives Richardson, Delfino, Turner, cash and 2014 Round 1 pick - PHI receives Asik, Lin, Robinson, 2013 Round 2 pick Houston Rockets 2014 Line-up PG: Holiday (~9.2m)/Beverley (~$800k)/Brooks (~$2.5m) SG: Harden (~$13.7m)/Anderson (~$900k)/FA SF: Parsons (~$925k)/FA PF: Love (~$14.7m)/Jones (~$1.5m)/Motiejunas (~$1.4m) C: Hawes (~$6.6m)/Smith (~$900k) (White also will make ~$1.7m) That puts the Rockets at right around $55 million (closer to $53 million if Brooks is not picked up). Given that the cap will likely be ~$60 million, the Rockets will have close around $6 million to use during free agency.
