good point -- the steel and concrete of the restaurant cannot be easily digested by humans

lol it's just a bad idea altogether!

but whenever I'm in NYC I go to Blue Ribbon restaurant in Brooklyn, not because hipsters say to, but because it's my favorite restaurants in the five boroughs...

    Ippudo is awesome.

Central Park is great. I prefer Prospect Park but then again I'm a retired hipster.

As I mentioned earlier I'm not really endorsing the Olive Garden
per se but the location. I know there are Olive Gardens everywhere.
If you don't like that restaurant that's okay but the place is always
full and it's full for a reason.....the location!

Might as well eat at the McDonalds in TS. That's super busy and "cool" too.

Go to Sofia in Times Square to watch the show "How 2 B A New Yorker". It is entertaining, not too expensive, and include lunch/dinner. The included foods are not great by any means, but since people are suggesting going to NYC to try Olive Garden (and guy fieri), I might as well recommend food from sofia.

I think Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty are closed due to damage from Hurricane Sandy. The SOL is due to open on 7/4, not sure about the Ellis Island museum.

Oh a really good steakhouse in Manhattan is called the Post House. Their cajun filet mignon is definitely one of the best steaks I have ever had. Also apparently there are tons of celebs and famous people who go there. Last time I went, I saw Ralph Lauren and his brother Jerry dining, which I thought was pretty cool.

I just thought Times Square was really a waste. You can find better food options in East Village or even Midtown East. A lot of hidden gems there. One of my favorite italian places in East Village was Paprika.

If you don't have someone familiar with the subway or don't have time to learn then put money aside for taxi. They can be overwhelming and a pain if your not on point.

The subway's not too hard. There's a map in every station. A cab is a massive waste of money; IMO you better be going somewhere fancy or getting some tail if you're paying for an expensive ass new york cab.

Just saying if he doesn't have time. Very frustrating when you miss your stop. Get off at next go above ground and still walk half mile to destination. What you call a waste of money I call a luxury from my experience.

I agree!! There are better places to eat than Olive Garden in T-Square,
especially if you don't find T-Square interesting. I went with the family
which includes two teenagers and we all had a great time.

The good thing about NYC is that there is something for everyone. Also
every time we've been there is during the Christmas holidays so all the
decorations and people are in a festive mood so that also contributes to
    the whole experience.

(P.S) I'm going to look up Paprika the next time I go....;)
