I agree, it's his performance overall. That was awful. I really don't know if he should keep the job. Either he just had an epic choke or he's really that bad. His boss can decide whether it's worth taking another chance to see which is true. And it's not really analogous to accidentally cursing in the office. He failed at the one thing he's explicitly hired to do: speak clearly and professionally in presenting the news. It's not like an accountant who slipped up and cursed in the office. It's like an accountant getting the numbers wrong big time...or an accountant filling out paperwork and scribbling a big curse word on it.
Ratings are everything. Even in North Dakota lol. The way an anchor conducts himself might turn viewers to another local news broadcast. Much like if Fallon offends or Letterman offends, you go to Conan.
And what happens when Conan offends? Carson Daily? Hahahahahahahah and then what? Ellen? Lololololol Ratings matter in LA or NY, but in ND? Not so much. He got fired because this went viral. If I had a radio show or a podcast or something, I'd hire this guy to do the News. I think that would be pretty funny.

if anything this might have increased the ratings. Furthermore, I bet in a week no one would even care anymore. I hope the guy finds a job
It happens. I forget the name of the sports guy here in Austin that got fired for an f bomb. It was not his fault at all, someone didn't erase a tape or something. Anyhow, he ended up at espn and doing abc updates.
How could "saying an F bomb" not be the same person's fault?!?!? No one is putting a gun to their heads, man.
Exactly. Plus I'm not sure people have taken a look at the guys twitter page and his tweets before he got this news job. This incident doesn't seem out of the ordinary for him.
Considering the story those young women are acting fairly immaturely. (Although anyone standing in a city street with a camera should probably expect all kinds of hassling).
The types of viewers they produce those human interest stories for, or just bored sports fans in the offseason, would love an opportunity to call-in or picket a station over something like this.
In Austin it was Robert Flores. And he dropped a f bomb when they were off air etc. a ladder or something fell over and he cussed. Somehow it was taped and should have been erased but wasn't. Worked out best for him
Who took the guy's place? Don't know? Me either. Probably because he did his job and went home. We celebrate and reward the mistakes and extremes This mistake is worth more to him than if he had been OUTSTANDING Rocket River Moral of the story . . . F8cking up is easier than being excellent . . .and can get ya just as much benefit.
lolque? They fired him for something not even his fault? Whoever was in charge of the tape should have gotten the can. Oh well, their news station, they can do whatever they want I guess.
