i hope you didn't spend more than 5 min pulling that data because posting it in this thread is a waste of time.
Let's not get carried away. Lin is playing ok, but heis at the bottom of that list. Players above him were younger and put up more impressive numbers.
Lin is the type of player that Duke would love, so obviously, Rose naturally has a dislike towards him. Also, Lin is arguably a proven starter in the league now. The relevant debate now is how far above the average he can take his level of play. Meanwhile, Beverley's had a few good sub appearances and a good playoff game. But I guess Russia was a true proving ground, huh?
I just don't think you're winning a title with a team full of 2nd rd and undrafted players. Right, wrong,or indifferent, guys get draft on their so called talent level. Whether or not they get there is something different. The rockets have 1 starter who was drafted 1 the 1st rd,2 undrafted guys, and 2 2nd rd picks. I don't think beverly or lin is the answer unless you get another player at hardens talent or greater.
What kind of logic is this? So if you weren't drafted in the first round you don't have enough talent to lead a team to a championship. So Ginobili doesn't have as much talent as a first rounder like Johnny Flynn? There are countless players there taken in the second round and undrafted that have turned out be stars/great players. Who cares where these guys were drafted.
He's played 1and a half playoff games in his life!!! A bit early to make judgements ain't it??? And, it's not a different sport or anything. What you have shown pretty much will translate into what you will get. Of course the playoffs are a different animal, but it clearly translates and has always translated in every playoffs. Really guys? Every single time?
Lin wasn't playing too bad until he got hurt - Beverley was good in the four guard lineup when he did not have to direct the offence, his energy on the floor created space. But when he is left to be a PG, I am not so sure.
Don't you realize the faulty reasoning you're making? Players are talented because they're taken in the first round. Players are taken in the first round because they're talented. There have been lots of talented players drafted in the 2nd round, and there have been a ton of 1st round busts. Lin is a special case because of his race and school (if he were not Asian, he might've gone to a basketball factory school and gotten drafted).
You're right. Rockets should try to get Chris Paul. Then they should get Dwight Howard at C because Asik has no offense. Then let's get Kevin Love at PF because we only have a bunch of rookies there. Parsons is also maddeningly inconsistent at times at SF, so why not try for Lebron in 2014? Howard, Love, Lebron, Harden, and Paul. Instant contenders! Seriously though, this team is young and is still far from its potential. Stop looking for in-prime superstars at every position.
No sir, Lin and Bev fulfill different role in the team. What we need is a different coach. McHale is really subpar.
Wrong sport, but what about Kurt Warner? 1 superbowl ring and 3 superbowl appearances. There might be some in basketball, but I couldn't think of any at the moment.
Keep both and play them however the coaching staff sees fit. Knicks are doing great in New York with a three-headed PG monster of Felton, Prigioni, and Kidd, even though all those players are flawed, with the starting position changing as necessary. I don't see why we can't do the same. IMO Lin and Beverley are more talented and can work together even better than the Knicks' PGs.
LOL the Knicks are thrashing Boston and they think they are on top of the world. wait till they face a strong team.
