Yes because Harden hitting on Ibaka's gf was more important to the OKC owner than the millions and millions that he would've had to pay in order to keep Harden by signing him to a max contract
Really? if you go by lins last 10 games he probably has had one or 2 good games at most. It's not Lin or Harden, it's the team that's sucking. There is no off the ball movement. None cuts or slashes towards the basket off the ball and the shots not falling are a trickle effect of that. When there is no off the ball movement, the PG or whomever is creating lacks any real option to pass the ball to and he is forced into bad shots. The guards need to move much better off the ball and the bigs need to set better off the ball picks to free them up.
Of course that doesn't mean you're guaranteed a championship but you can legitimately contend for one.
Are you serious? Or you're blind. Harden/Parsons never pass on a fast break while Lin passes to others most of the time.
“While the Rockets studied video and worked to make corrections, Oklahoma City forward Serge Ibaka offered a rapid evaluation of what happened to the Rockets’ offense when the Thunder switched on high screens throughout Sunday’s blowout. ‘They can be kind of selfish,’ Ibaka said. ‘You know, when you switch against a team like them that’s going to go one-on-one, that’s good for us. For them, they are going to take some tough shots, some contested shots. That’s something we want, that we’re looking for.’ Au contrere, he said "they." You can conjecture all you want, but I'm quite certain that "they" is still a plural pronoun; thus, unless you have some inside info into what Mr. Ibaka REALLY meant, I'm afraid all we have to go by is the English language. And being a Rockets fan, I don't particularly like or care for when other players say negative things about my team, particularly a highly insulting word in the sports field like "selfish." We can criticize the Rockets, but we don't need to hear s**t from other team's players or fans, period. So, my sentiment stands: F**k Serge Ibaka, the man with as many rings as any one on our roster: ZERO.
The system gives the players freedom. If they were selfish, it's their own doing. They have to cut/move more without the ball, and challenge Harden to make better decisions. This is how they'll grow. Not by forcing them into plays that the other team will figure out in a playoff series.
Ibaka is one of my most disliked players. Talking smack like he's the best defensive player in the league
You cannot be serious. If the rockets have an offensive system, then javale mcgee has the highest basketball IQ in the nba.
There's no error or oversight. The system is basically complete freedom. Which means almost no system. This is not a mistake by the coaching staff. They didn't forget. They do realize. It's by design. The players are free to do what they want almost all the time. So when these guys stand around and watch Harden, that is what they are choosing to do.
Just curious why we have a reputation around the league of being a good offensive team if we don't have an offensive system? Counter intuitive if you ask me.
ibaka is right, although he is border line talking ****. not to mention OKC got to the finals last season playing a lot of ISO.
Exactly. This is all about Serge Ibaka taking a swipe at Harden. Now that he's part of a winning team, he's feeling like he can talk smack. It wouldn't be true if we had a better coach---a firmer hand, knew how to control a game---and a real power forward. Oh, and a better point guard. Um, and a center whose hands weren't made of stone. And.... Please, please, Morey, get that 2nd star this summer. Of all people, Ibaka needs to keep his mouth shut.
