Ya and did anyone say that Lin was better than Harden offensively? Stop putting words in people's mouth. The poster I replied to claimed that Harden and Lin were on similar terms in terms of defense.
Pretty sure Lin is a good to very good defender and most stats back that up I believe. Bev is also a good defender maybe slightly better than Lin. Harden is one of the worst defenders in the nba statistically but is our best player by far.
Public access defensive statistics aren't worth a grain of salt, they're so worthless the eye test is actually better. There's also a reason why Chandler Parsons was put on Tony Parker at the end of the spurs win. Harden's defensive style has two main issues, one he spent years with a weak side shot blocker, okc's perimeter gambles a lot, the other is the obvious nature of how he's trying to protect himself from fouling, Harden's 4th quarter defense when his foul count is low is really quite good.
He's selfish and a chucker. A me first stats kind of guy with poor defense. Lin is the true mvp and heart and soul of this team.
I echo the beard comment. Dude needs to do something with it. Shape it into an upside down triangle, braid it like Capt. Jack Sparrow, or something. Just don't leave it like that.
Every player has a list of things they need to work on in the offseason to help the team. Lin himself said he had a list of things he really needs to work on. For Harden most of us agree its defense. Then the team will be much stronger next year!
