I'm sure that McHale is assessing practice performance as well. Brooks give the Rockets depth at the point guard position - he's here in case the Rockets desperately need another point guard. But Lin and Beverly are handling the point guard position quite well.
Beverly is much better than Lin at this point in his career. Much better defense and can score at will. Start Beverly. He's the main reason we are going to the playoffs this year. I can't even count the amount of times his timely blocks won us the game. He is clutch.
Bev can't run the offense well (as seen in tonight's game), but his defense alone gives him minutes ahead of AB.
You just know McHale dreams about this small ball lineup. Rockets would average 269pts! ..and give up 316
the rockets just have this way with their point guards. francis, mike james, rafer alston, aaron brooks, kyle lowry, goran dragic, jeremy lin. somehow we end up going after the ones we willingly let get away, only to never really play them again because their replacement shows promise. but to answer the question, patrick has earned his spot for sure. but i do miss AB ...
both are bench players who cannot really direct the offense through adversities. one is better defender the other is more proven scorer. with Harden here to stay, I'd go with Beverly for better D.
I think we're keeping all three. Yeah Morey can find a good PG every year but that doesn't help us win.
People fail to understand that the Kings have all that talent on the roster yet is still losing games for a legit reason. That Kings team is playing for stats. Not wins.
