If I'm Patrick Beverley, I'm just grateful I am a rotation player on an NBA team after struggling to get into the league for years.

They are almost equal on blocks and steals, BJ has 18 ppg vs JL 13 ppg
    BJ has higher FT%, 3PT%, Assists%, Efficiency% and only a slightly lower FG%.

So yeah, I'd say that if JL was playing like BJ, I would say he would be better.

Lin is better than Brooks, not better than Bev. But he is a better for the Rockets bottom line revenue figures than even Harden. Les gotta keep him in the game no matter what otherwise how is he going to make up for the poor attendance figures.

Thats tough as much as I hate to admit it I would be glad to take Lin's starting spot if I was in his shoes. Its not like they are close friends or anything.

Just use TS%. Jennings scores at 50.9 TS% way below the league average. Lin 53.8 TS%. Slightly above the league average. Every shot Jennings takes on average is detrimental to his team since he scores way below average efficiency. Not the case with Lin. So in Jenning's case his 18 ppg just means that he is wasting touches with his poor efficiency. To call his points empty would be nice. They are detrimental. Jennings has higher assist% merely because he has the ball in his hands more.

Are you trying to counter this horrible thread by trolling? Because I remember people was calling Beverley a scrub and all kind of things when he went scoreless for 4 games and praising Lin when he put up 20+ for 3 games straight.
I always find it funny how fast people can change their tunes and judgement on a player's ability based on a game-by-game potential.

Beverly has to earn his minutes over Lin, nothing to be upset about. Lin is the better player and was bought in with that assumption.

And Lin is not? At least when Beverley is off offensively, he'll still give it his all on D, and he hits the glass and hustles. Lin has shown himself to be darn good when he's on, but he brings very little to the table on his off-games.

I think this is why McHale goes with Bev when Lin is off - he knows he'll get some positive out of Beverley regardless.

I agree. While Lin may be a nice guy, he will not put food on Bev's table or pay his rent. He may allow him to sleep on his couch for a number of days, but likely no more than that.

I have no idea why you take the time to question a perfectly reasonable thread. The thread is designed to address a controversial reality. No, it is not a comfortable topic, but it is mind stimulating and deserves addressing. Nobody forced you to reply to the thread.

Your bad thread is exacerbated by your constantly chiming in to defend it. Look at your one star rating and the cries of the people against this thread and try to learn from the experience. And please, don't get all Roycey and decide that everyone is crazy but you. This is an example of a bad OP, don't do similar ones in the future. Simple as that.

I would however enjoy you asking this question of Beverley himself. Please videotape it though so that we can all watch him punch your face a lot of times.

If you were on a team like Miami, you would probably care very much if LeBron or Wade or Bosh got hurt, because any missed time during the playoffs could cost you a ring.

If you were on a team like Washington or Charlotte, and someone like Wall, Walker or MKG got hurt, I think you would be glad to get the chance to play.

So you have to look at it from a perspective of how the team is doing as well. Especially if the player you're replacing is pretty much the franchise player.

Tha feck does this have to do with what we think about the front office? You asked what we think Bev is thinking when Lin plays bad or gets hurt. Any backup players are thankful for a shot as a starter, but they don't rest their hopes on or delight in other teammates getting injured or failing unless they really dislike them. Not sure what agenda you're trying to push with this thread, but you might as well state it and get it over with.

Back up should always be hungry to get the starting position. If he is content being the 2nd unit pg, he wont really help your team. If he wants that starting pg position, now you got 2 starting pg caliber players running your offense. If Black Pat can continue to play well and even starts over Lin a game or two, Lin will want to step his game up. Then we can get him "To Linfinity, and BEYOND!"

if you are welcome to all the responds, why you have to defend every reply if it is against your perspective?
