Rockets aren't afraid to cut Royce. They used a draft pick on him and clearly want him to play. There is no benefit to the Rockets cutting him and the only thing that would happen is he might sign with another team and improve the competition. If the Rockets just wanted him to go away or disappear, they wouldn't have rushed to put him on the Vipers. They would have drawn out the contract stuff as long as possible, and they would be whispering in his ear, "Take it easy, take it slow, you can just play next year."
I seriously forgot who Royce White was until this thread was posted. I'll forget again in about 5 minutes.
If it wasn't for the few of you who actually care to posts any articles/interviews from Royce, I wouldn't even remember the guy.
Play him in RGV all next year then just don't pick up his option for year 3. Problem solved, and we can claim (rightfully, IMO) that we didn't pick up the option simply because doing so wouldn't make the team better. In the meantime, let him do the interviews and get the attention he so desperately seeks. In 3 years' time he'll be broke with 5 kids and will have to rely on his charm to get his ass eaten by some skank. And the Rockets will be just fine.
He should quit and find a place which follows #protocols. Here I was thinking he was turning things around in the d league...
i ****ing hate this idiot. you have to adapt to the business, the business isn't gonna adapt to you, you entitled douche
What are the chances that this Royce White debacle will bring some form of mental health protocol to the NBA if some congressperson is dumb/opportunistic enough to ride the issue with White as some form of martyr? Something like the "Royce White Rule" perhaps?
Protocol to the NBA? It'll wind up much bigger than that. Watch. It'll be a whole new set of rules and regs applying to every employer regarding hiring, firing, etc.
