Harden can go for a "trouble double": ten turnovers and ten missed free throws. Lin can be benched all the fourth quarter. Robinson can stretch the floor shooting threes. McHale can say "fudgepack chamber" in the post-game interview.
If the Rockets were a little more guaranteed to make the playoffs, then it would not be such a bad idea (even if it means the despicable Jazz). But right now I think there is too much risk of missing the playoffs. The Lakers are going to make it. Beating the Jazz pretty much means we will qualify from our side and helps make sure we do not slide to the 8th spot. So, no.
If that is the motivation then we should beat them at all cost. Why in the world would we want the Dwightmare here?????
In what universe does this make any sense? 7th and 9th seed are only 2 games apart, every win needed.
First off.......OP...HELL ****ING NO! We always try to beat the j*zz. They are our rivals in the same sense that Boston and LAL are rivals......its just that heated. Second the guy I'm replying to....helping the j*zz win is NEVER acceptable. Juck the Fazz!
I love when my vote brings a 2 star thread at 1.50 avg down to one star at 1.48. making a difference- it's what Clutchfans is all about
Go f**k yourself. The jazz are our rivals and mortal enemy. Who cares about the lakers the spurs will kill em in the first round
Losing on purpose is a defeatist way of viewing things. Rockets must win in any scenario. It doesn't really matter if Lakers got in the playoffs or not. What's important is for Rockets to try to win each and every game. No need to be afraid of everybody. It's a disgrace to a club or anything in sports to lose intentionally.
