This is not unusual and its not unusual for the fans to be upset if the hiree is not the best candidate for the position and has performed dismally. There is no problem with hiring a personal friend so long as the selection is based on merit and fitness and can be justified by his resume'. Mchale is being rewarded by the Celtics fraternity for the past sacrifices as a Celtic player by getting a high paying coaching job with the Rockets organization which did not reap a single benefit from his past performance as a player. How is that fair to the Rockets and the fans? And yes many businesses fail because they don't hire the right people and many sports franchises fail because they don't hire people based on merit and fitness. That is not unusual at all , history is littered with the failure of those who were not hired based on merit and fitness.
Beverley wasn't as bad as he looked in the last two games just as 2Pat was better than he looked to be early in the season, and DMO should have helped the team more in the last two games. I think the coaches have put too much (often inconsistent) restriction in the 1 and 4 positions. DMO has been coached away his post-up game just as 2Pat had been without his midrange jumper before and during our 7 game losing streak. Rockets' offense has regressed to the first half of the season.
JVG will never blame a coach, he is the coaches best friend. McHale has done nothing special, he has them playing hard, but that is about it. His in game substitutions are borderline at best. Give any coach Harden and he wins a lot, with a more competent coach this team would be better, imo. DD
This is a young team its expected for them to be inconsistent. Look at the Thunder when they were young. Not even close to a .500 team. Sure you can blame McHale's substitutions and style but he has still gotten the best out of his players regardless. Give it time
This is a problem a new coach will has to adjust. Using DMo for example, he has talent and working hard. But WTF is he doing at the 3s? He shown that he is perfectly capable at posting up in the paint and has amazing foot work. Why not let him use his size? After all, he is 7 feet.
I don't know if this has been posted before. It's long but easy to listen to. Kevin McHale is just a Jeremy Lin Doubter. Nothing More. Nothing Less. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/MPStYh4Zxj8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
McHale sure gets hot. Says the team did "a horses**t job" against Phoenix. Wonder if he's calling out some guys in particular. http://www.nba.com/rockets/video/2013/03/11/ZOOM0003MOV-2410461
Has anyone ever found an instance where McHale called out his poor coaching, cause it seems like the only thing he knows how to do is throw his players under the bus
Mcfail is an albatross around the neck for the players. He is a handicap the team has to play with. All because the Celtics fraternity wants to reward Mcfail for all the sacrifices he has made for the Celtics as a player and as a GM for Minnesota. If he was working for Donald Trump, he would've gotten the hand gesture and the swift order: " you're fired!!!".
serious you guys want to watch Harden balls instead of 6 players with double digits? I will quit watching even if Harden ball wins games.
yea we seen it like 500 times already we got it more Lin fans that think Mchale has somtin against Lin got it
why why are people mad what he said in the interview he dont call out one player hes pissed at the team as whole for not rebounding that he starts of sayin Asik has been good cause hes the only who hit the boards against PHX you think if Rockets won anf everybody rebounded he would still said what he said in the interview no he would probley said we need to play our game and have pace like he always does
Matthew 7:5 - "You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."
True. Complains about defensive rebounding while often going small and not playing his best rebounder, thus putting his team in rebounding hell. But it's also true that if it was easy to figure out what McSuccess is thinking (especially when rolling out his small line-ups), he would no longer be McSuccess.
Wait, what? Are you saying that the only way a coach can get his players to put effort into rebounding, is to always play the best rebounders in the game?
Wait I take that back, they are worse than "LOH" in here. In the 'Jeremy's a joke' thread, they're saying he sucks and should be traded. In here, there's not just criticism, but character attacks and the palpable hatred for a human being. Wtg guys!
