I dont see where AB is a good fit. Offensive we have in spades, its defense where we need help. Even if AB was a super assist guy I could see it. But a shoot first PG is only going to be of help if something happens to Lin or Patrick.
He can help the second unit. They might not be good defensively but with him on the floor they have a chance at out scoring the opponent.
NOOO Brooks.. Why oh why...I hope this DOES NOT happen... I'm pretty sure we are better off without him! I definitely prefer Beverly over ball hog, no defense, trapped and blocked under the basket at the end of close games, cry baby Brooks.. *sigh*
Actually we don't have offense when Harden and Lin are out of the game. We need a vet that can score off the bench with the ball in his hands and that is Brooks' forte.
Who is the last Rockets starting point guard to have played in and won a playoff series? I have no idea if he still has anything left in the tank, but the guy was damn good when he played for the Rockets. Let's give him a chance.
A few points: 1) It seems he wasnt that happy in SAC partly due to limited play time. 20min / game. Unless Patrick falls off the map, I dont see where AB would even get this many minutes. 2) PER: AB 12.3, Patrick 18.9 I suppose what I dont see is what AB brings that Patrick doesnt do as well or better.
remember when Douglas was playing out of his mind? then we get Beverly and mcfail gave him all of Douglas' minutes. mcfail will find a way to bench the hottest player at the moment in favor of a newcomer. wouldnt be surprise to see AB taking all of Bev's minutes next game
Brooks is definetly better at shooting and creating his own shot. His defense isn't as terrible as many believe, and he has decent passing ability. He's one of the quickest in the game and will fit in with our high speed offense well. He may not be a better defender the beverley or be as much of a hustle player, but he sure does have his own strength's that beverley can't match.
I don't remember where but he said he gave Beverley time after he was signed because he wanted to see what kind of player he had in him
Patrick - .435 from 3, .450 overall AB ------.378 from 3, .459 overall I wouldnt call AB an upgrade from a shooting perspective over Patrick.
