    getting fouled doesn't count as a FGA, so it would seem like a huge portion of the data set is missing

    That is what creates efficiency.

    Drives (high % + creates FTAs) and 3 pointers are a lot better than long 2s.

    Win share has him as #3 on the year , though obviously still a ways off from Durant / Lebron, but he's essentially the 3rd best player in the game now. and most of the negative is coming from his brain farts on defense that should improve over time.
