Heard Eskin on 790 just now. No source given and he really was down on Bynum wants the bum out of twon. He is vocally campaigning for the Rox to take Bynum away from PHI.

I can't buy this one. NEXT rumor please!

That one time when he submitted his trade to the league office and then it got rejected. That was a pretty big leak of Morey's information.

all these guys(nba "experts") are doing is taking the history of our gm and applying it to whatever player is leaving for free agency or on the trading block.

the exception is if said player is a superstar, then brooklyn makes the most sense with their championship contending roster!

Remember when Morey said he was going to stand pat this past trading deadline? This is all you need to know about Morey, he will not give you a lead. Right now, Bynum is probaly the least valued big time free-agent. He hasn't played a full season in 5 years, he is averaging 53 games a season out of 82. He is going to give you 2/3 of a season, he is getting older. Buy low for Bynum, sell high according to their people.

Bynum doesn't really fit in with the pace of this team. His strengths don't match the strengths of the other players on this roster. I think the rumor is BS.

The more I watch of Howard the more I'm convinced that unless he's not fully recovered, he only provides us with a marginal upgrade over Asik. Bynum even less, and that's if he actually plays. We have no problem putting up points, we need perimeter defenders and a defensive minded power foward.

It really depends on the price tag. I'd consider a one year near max deal for him if we don't get DWH or CP3, and Josh Smith/Millsap wants multi-year near max contract, and Bynum passes the phisical.

At this point, probably nobody's gonna give him multi-year max contract. If the best offer is a 3 year 10 mil/yr contract, we can offer a one year 15-18 mil contract.

For Bynum, he gets more money in first year and more in next contract if he performs well. For us, it's a huge boost if he regains his form, and we keep our caproom in 2014 if the experiment fails. Not to mention he will be a huge expiring contract which may have some value in worst case scenario.

Watch out, you're gonna get blasted around here for saying that!

    ...

Anywho, 1 year? Sure. Not likely though.

    AGREED !!!

Dwight DOES NOT give us 'THAT' much more on the court than what Asik is giving us right now.

J-Smooth make us better at a position of need, plus if he does not work out we now have a huge tradeable piece to try to go after LA or K-Love.

Is J-Smooth a max...HELL NO but what person on Earth would not want to get paid as much as possible for the work that they do on a daily basis. WE ALL DO

    Asik + J Smooth >>>> Dwight + T-Rob/D-Mo

Is J-Smooth the "championship piece" we need....maybe maybe not, but getting him at between 10-13 mil per yr for the talent, defense, and versitility he has is straight up steal and does make us a contender.

    No

Teams will give him the max at max years. There is a dearth of top stars out there.

What if Morey put this thought out there to make Dwight Howard's agents worry that Houston might not be available as a landing spot.

I"m not saying that's what's happened, but wouldn't be the worst thought in the world.

Houston could be that really pretty girl that isn't A-list hot, but if all the A-list hotties are taken, the boys start realizing they might want to make a call.

There's no way insurance will cover Bynum's next contract, is there?

We're talking about a guy that managed 82 games once out of 8 seasons. Misses 30 games a year on average at this point, and is "working himself back" half the time he is on the court. Averaged 10 rpg twice. Averaged 20 ppg....oh wait, never.

With 7 footers, there really isn't guesswork involved. If you are constantly injured to start your career, it's going to be that way until you retire. Have fun trying to dig up the exceptions to the rule.

Asik's doing great. Bynum, for most of his career has been a 15-8 guy. Asik's giving us a nice 10-11 and being selective with his shots.

You ask me, I'm willing to offer Bynum $2M for 2 years....to be Omer's backup. Let some other fool team piss away millions on him.
