Bosh & Wade won't take a paycuts. In 2014, when the options start for LBJ, Bosh, and him, Wade will be 32. He's already showing signs of slowing down so no team in their right mind will give him a max deal. And Bosh just isn't that good to garner a $20 million+ per yr deal again. Miami is gonna have to do some trading between now and the 2014 trade deadline to get out of caproom hell and convince LBJ to stay.
If LBJ stays, they will be fine. Pacers are the only team in my eyes that can upset them in the East especially if they get Granger back to pre injury form with Paul George emerging as a star.
IMO LBJ will go back to Cleveland once he secures ring #3. He doesn't want to be told he couldn't do it without Wade/Bosh and he won't go to any other team.
Most people seem to believe LeBron will leave Miami in free agency. So, until the end of next season.
LeBron still has a mansion in Akron and goes home there in the offseason so he might be the one big FA to sign in Ohio. With that said Pat Riley is a snake and don't see him letting LeBron out of his clutches.
If the Cavs still have the same owner... LerBon will never set foot in that home team locker room there. There's a higher probability that he stays in Miami. But if he knows what's good, he'll join Parsons and Lin in Houston to become the Magnificent 3.
I think this will be the last year that team is gonna be together...expect huge changes after this postseason with the Heat, Knicks, Lakers... If they dont win it this year(still think the spurs are a better team)...that is gonna be it...
I think Bosh is the odd man out. He WILL leave to go prove himself as a #1B or #2 on a solid playoff team. Lebron does not have the cajonas to leave a city again. he is comfortable in Miami, he will retire there; same with Wade. Bosh is gone.
If Lebron stays, he'll eventually get old anyway. He seems like a guy that will age well and keep producing until he's 35 or so. That gives him about 7 years. Bosh can probably stick it out that long too. Wade is probably going to fade hard much sooner. It looks like their big offseason is after the 2014-15 season. A bunch of player options kick in, and the other contracts expire. They have a good risk-abatement structure there if Lebron leaves, they can shed a lot of other guys at the same time. Assuming all the principals stay, though, they're going to have no cap flexibility at all, Wade should be a giant albatross by then, and they'll need to find enough decent complementary players to keep going. They can pick up ring-chasers, but that doesn't seem to ever work out as well in real life (at least in the Lakers' experience). It'll be their make-or-break time for the dynasty.
