In ESPN's Power Rankings, it says this about the Cleveland Cavaliers:
I think if he's available for the minimum, the Rockets should make a push. His toughness and veteran experience would be invaluable for a playoff drive. Eddie Griffin just isn't reliable at this young stage and 10-15 minutes per game from the rugged defender could really make things easier for Yao inside. The Rockets should atleast take a look.

acquiring Tyrone Hill for the stretch drive is a good plan especially after hearing Yao take a verbal shot at Eddie Griffins defense.

    Yao definitely needs some help...

It looked ridiculous last night when we was the only one coming over to stop a Celtics dunk in the third quarter...

    Tyrone Hill.

If he could help our team, then why isn't he playing at all in CLEVELAND?

Yeah..it would be nice to have another veteran if he is cheap.

But is he any good anymore?

Two words - Carlos Boozer. The guy has progressed faster than the Cavs expected.

Plus, at 10-46 they are better off giving minutes to Boozer, DeSagana Diop and Chris Mihm.

It would be cool, but I doubt he is a good fit for the Rockets style. He and Posey both went to Xavier.

He might be worth a look. He can still board.. 8.3 in 26 minutes. He's hitting his freethrows for the first time in his career, lol. Has playoff experience we could really use. But whose spot would he take? We'd have to cut someone. Would hate to lose Hawk... everyone else doesn't seem expendable, but who knows?

Hope we can find out more. Thanks, thacabbage. We need some interior toughness, no doubt about it! Could be useful hammering on some of the guys who have been roughing up our "PF's" (quotes intentional ;)) and Yao. Bit of a low-rent Oakley.

he will go where he gets minutes or a lock for a title

the dude put up good numbers when getting minutes at the start of the season, now way he goes somewhere for 10 minutes a game

I didn't want to trade Taylor for him earlier in the season when some threads were calling for a trade but if we could pick him up off waivers it would good.Xavier players tend to be physically tough and we need that. Hill does tend to sulk at times but it's quite possible that he could get some valuable minutes with the Rockets. However it's quite likely he could end up with a team with a chance to win a championship instead of us.
I don't know if we would need to cut Hawkins because we haven't picked up another player after cutting Mickeal.

MT, read the thread where Yao is interviewed by the china media.

man after watching Griffin and Taylor tonight, Im thinking we better get some power foward help from the waiver wire, CBA, or wherever. we're in a tight playoff race, we cant afford such poor play from those two guys.

Hill is just what the Rockets need. He's past his prime, but would make a great bench player. He would certainly be nice insurance until the Rockets figure out if EG is a bust or not.

relax, it seemed like he was playfully poking fun at EG.

But still, watching EG and Taylor stink it up on a consistent basis here of late, it'd be nice to at least explore some other options out there that can help us at that position.

Not a bad idea, but I prefer to play Cato at pf first. Can't believe I just said that.

Nothing against Hill but if it's rebounding you want, wouldn't it make more sense to give PF minutes to Cato? Adding Hill alters chemistry, the rotation, puts another player on the IL (if we could even do that) and takes minutes away from Griffin and Taylor.

Gater,Hill is a better defender than Cato and certainly much better than either Taylor or Griffin. If he is available for a short term period I would pick him up.Adjusting will be difficult but Mo can still come off the bench and get some shots,Griffin would miss out more than anyone but he isn't going anywhere and can keep on learning from the coaching staff and come in to play when neither Taylor or Hill are doing well.

Cavs just released Bimbo Coles and Tyrone Hill is suppose to follow. What are your thoughts on getting him? He put up decent #s earlier this year when he started and IMO he is an upgrade for us in PFs. Hill plays tough d, rebounds well and does the dirty work. Rumors are that he will sign with Philly.
