You're right on all fronts Spark, but I think adding Hamilton to the bench would be a big benefit for the stretch run of this season -- an added incentive, gravy, if you will.

As others have mentioned, the team is pretty thin at the 2 behind Harden, can has often lacked scorers when Harden sits. I also think his championship experience could be useful on the team, especially in the playoffs. Rip would be a perfect solution to this small hole on the roster.

And the fact that the Bulls would be giving us assets in order to take Hamilton on really just emphasizes the synergy of such a move.

Agreed. Just wanted to make things clear why players such as Parsons or Delfino would never be a part of this deal.

What's great is that the Rockets don't have to do anything at all. We have young talent, cap space, and we are improving everyday. Some teams are in a jam, they really need to do something, whether it's to get under the cap or to get that last piece to make a run for a title. The Rockets are in a great position to take advantage of these teams if the opportunity presents itself. Maybe we will make a move before the deadline, or maybe in the off-season, but it's nice to not have to do anything if the deal isn't right for the Rockets.

Ball is definitely in Houstons court on any potential deal

If we do absolutely nothing it's okay.

Expecting a Camby type deal so it should be at the last minute. Just like a season ago. ;)

If we can get a trade getting patterson, morris and jones out for a expiring and picks, i would be estatic. Trading that combo would save us nearly 5.5 mill this offseason (as long as we get back pure expirings) while attaining picks.

Yeah, this is my best case scenario, with the worst being nothing, which is just fine.

Pat for JJ Hickson? They make close to the same money, Hickson is an expiring contract so it frees up more cap room this summer, Hickson's a double double machine, we'd lose a bit on the defensive end, but make some up with rebounding and limiting opponents' second chance opportunities.....maybe get Portland to throw in a 2nd rounder?

well considering all Morris can do is stretch the floor ...

oh and the fact that when Asik leaves the game, we get killed on the boards ...

and the fact that we are apparently all about creating cap space ...

maybe it's not such a bad idea.

...but what do i know. i know absolutely nothing about basketball. isn't that the game where you kick a oddly shaped ball over a net at half court?
