Goran Dragic is no more athletic than jeremy lin an they're the same height. Plus it's meaningless to have that size and athleticism if you don't know what do with it. Good shooter with deep range, who's freaking 3 pt %age this year is worse than Jeremy Lin and we're past the halfway point of the season. Dragic costing less than Lin?? CHeck the archives, the dude wanted 10 mill a year. Lin ended up getting a 25 mill deal over 3 years, Dragic got a 34 mill deal for 4...do the math.
some people really need to learn how to let go, seriously, its almost midseason and yet people are still talking about what if scenarios with Dragic
Yes, Dragic would be awesome on this team, but he was a veteran so its a little unfair to compare him to Lin, as a essentially a rookie. Hopefully, in a few years, if Lin is still on the payroll, he can improve and get to Dragic's level (or even Lowry's) last year. Lin's ceiling probably isn't as high, but just getting near Dragic's level last year would be huge for this team. Having someone, other than Harden, who you could rely on to deliver big games would be a boon for our team. Hopefully Lin can being consistent in his shooting and learn to make better basketball decisions on the court. He has the physical tools, but everything else has yet to be seen. Only time will tell.
If you looked at their stats/games started and watched their games from last year, Lin was already as good (playing as well) as Dragic. We're (not you specifically) comparing apples to apples. Their stats aren't that different from one another this year either.
Gortat is not a scrub big man, Dudley can stroke the 3, Scola is still a serviceable PF....Beasley has talent. It's not a good team by any means, but so what. Andre Miller led the league in assists back in the day playing with a Cleveland team that won less than 30 games. Just cause your team sucks doesnt mean you cant shine.
Rockets wins NBA Championship in 6 games with Lin. "Rocket fans" makes threads: "We would have won the Championship in 5 games if we had Gogi." I fully expect this to happen.
dont understand why the common basketball fan cannot look at the teams-record? Look at Sun with Dragic, and look at Raptors with Lowry, and so those two wont be missed lol.... if Dragic were put back into Houston-roster and Lin were in the Sun-Roster after the all-star break, and the same ranking resulted for the seaon then we would say Dragic is better. Otherwise, forget dragic. (Perhaps Linsanity could recap at the Sun lol, who knows
Dragic could still improve quite a bit - look at Nash and what he did after 27.. IMO Both Lin and Dragic will be better than Lowry easy because of their style of play. Lowry's offense will see a sharp decline in the near future.
Actually, Jeremy's TO numbers were quite exaggerated last season AND he managed to get it down this season. Dragic is not as good as you think he is. Jeremy's defense is much better, and he's more athletic/faster, and can penetrate better. Dragic is a better shooter. Jeremy is averaging a 12.6 ppg / 6.2 assist per game while taking 10.5 shots a game, while Dragic is 14 ppg / 6.3 assist per game while taking 11.3 shots a game. Their stats are pretty same except Dragic gets to orchestrate the offense and is allowed to be the primary ball handler, while Lin is not. That alone shows Jeremy is better than Dragic in terms of stats. So to sum it up: Jeremy Defense > Dragic Defense Jeremy Age (younger) > Dragic Age (older) Jeremy Athleticism > Dragic Athleticism Jeremy Offense = Dragic Offense (we dont know for sure because we haven't allowed Jeremy to be the primary ballhandler)
I liked the game of Dragic.... but he remains what he is a borderline 2nd tier guard Jeremy is younger and should improve
Lin's way more athletic than Dragic. But lin can't hit the ocean from the ocean. Or the beach from the beach.
"PG's last year who would rarely miss point blank layups." Is this your eye test? The stats certainly don't back you up. For reference, Lowry's At Rim % is 59.1% this season, 56.1% last season. Lin's is 62.7% this season, 52.9% last season.
