I still think that Garnett is a massive a*****e that goes for cheap shots BUT a veteran presence like him on this young team would be invaluable if only for half a season. This will toughen them up I feel and provide leadership.

Morey likes flexibility. The only way I see the Rockets doing this is if the Celtics want to dump KG's contract for tax relief.

I like Garnett now, but I don't think he will be as effective when he is 37 next season. He's not the typical big. He doesn't weigh much so I could be wrong about him declining a lot next season.

I'd definitely argue that paying Garnett 30 million is far better than throwing a max at Josh Smith or Big Al, neither of whom I like a lot anyways.

Celtics should make a run at Lowry.

I am against the team going old, but a team composed of Gasol, Garnett, Harden and Lin does sound interesting. I wonder if Morey would do this trade, if given the opportunity? It may be a title contender, but the championship window will be short.

Damn, poor Celtics can't get a break this season lol. Oh well, they got Sullinger. Don't feel too bad for them haha.

Simmons then points out that Rose, Rubio, and Rondo have all had ACL injuries during the last twelve months. It's the curse of the Rs.

Didn't know that, yeah this is pretty much a no brainer IMO.

The only flexibility he loses is not signing a big FA the next few years.

Whose going to be a big FA in that time? All the great young players you'd want to pair Harden up with are still well on their contracts. When Garnett expires Harden should be just entering his prime.

I don't know about him declining. I don't think he'd be able to play at the high pace the Rockets like to play at...but he'll add another dimension to the team when they need to slow it down and they'll need to slow it down a lot in a playoff series.

I hate Garnett but he would be good for our young team. We'd become a top 5 team, not a contender, and he could mentor our young guys.

I still can't see Morey going for KG. KG is a great player who would make this team real good. But his contract lasts a couple of years and would take up a good chunk of cap space for this coming off-season. As I mentioned in the Pau Gasol thread in the GARM, as long as there is even a tiny chance to sign Dwight this off-season, Morey will probably not make a trade now. And a Garnett or Gasol trade would make the Rockets pretenders, not contenders.

Nice trolling. You'll get feedback from both his haters and his supporters.

That is terrible, rondo is an elite talent...I still don't see pierce getting traded, too much loyalty (unless he asks), KG would be good pickup even at his age.
